Brian, Welcome to LibriVox! Yes, a poem by the blind poetess Myra Viola Wilds would be a nice edition to the LibriVox catalog. There is a facsimile copy of her book (copyrighted in 1915 and which, therefore, having been published before 1924, is in the Public Domain) at archive.org: https://archive.org/details/thoughtsofidleho00wildrich/page/n8/mode/2up. . This copy was autographed by the author. Poetry, as Kevin has pointed out to you, has it's own section at LibriVox, and if you follow the link he has given you, you will be at the place to inquire about how to submit the poem you want to read.
Kevin, thanks for pointing Brian to the right section of the forum!

I'm glad sociology has discovered all the laws of human nature.
I'll end it there

Hi Betty, Ah scones! When I was a kid, the Washington State Fair at Puyallup had a big "scone" vendor right near the entrance, and as a family that was always our first stop, for scones! Now I only revisit nostalgia in airports, where I always end up with scones and coffee... Thank you for your contribution to volume 074! Have you tried any of the recipes?BettyB wrote: ↑May 14th, 2020, 10:45 am On a lighter note:

Before we can indulge a listen however, we do need your help, Betty. Your file name has a "_" just after the "128kb" and so it didn't upload. Could you please send it up again? Many thanks!

Hi Sue & Betty,
I fixed the filename on the server side. Here is the new link
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/snf074_biscuitsbreakfastcakes_farmer_bbs_128kb.mp3
Boston Cooking School Cookbook by Fannie Farmer is my favorite. My old paperback copy that I have had for over 45 years has lost the back cover and the index pages are slowly disintegrating. I bought a new hard cover edition, but it has been modernized and just isn't the same. Blueberry scones are one of my favorites, but I can't say that I have ever tried to make them (and I really shouldn't eat them anymore ).

Not sure what happened in that upload...

Thanks, Jo! Thanks Betty! I inherited my mother's 1931 hard cover copy of Fannie Farmer (she and my dad married in 1932). It is interleaved with a marvelous assortment of mementos--recipes clipped from newspapers, assorted mother's day cards from us kids, a napkin from my sister's wedding in 1958, and, for good measure, a clipping of a Peanuts cartoon which reads: "I sure feel nervous today ... a.ahh... "If everybody would lie with his head in his water dish for five minutes each day, this would be a better world."
Betty, Puyallup is pronounced like this: peu [rhymes with "whew"] Al [like the abbreviation of the boy's name Allen] up. The accent is on the second syllable.

And last but not least....

Many thanks, Betty, for finishing up vol. 074 in style: some "virtual scones" (good for the waistline) and some "virtual travel" (good for the spirits)!BettyB wrote: ↑May 14th, 2020, 1:32 pm And last but not least....

EDIT: oh, I see is JUST missed this collection! Seems like I did that once before. Skip it, and I'll resubmit it in the next collection.
