These were interesting but some racism made it less ideal to read (to be expected from the time it was written but still jarring -- the casual use of the term "half breed" in both pieces and the stereotyping of indigenous people/Native Americans (with a few dollops of sexism for good measure)) -- especially annoying when I would stumble over a phrase with a particularly ugly bit in it and have to read it 3-4 times to get it right.

Colleen, I'll be watching for volume 12!

yes I see it more as an interesting piece of historical writing, so yes, there will be racism/sexism which nowadays is not accepted anymore.

The taking of the fort was quite suspenseful and well read I loved both sections actually, and you read them flawlessy. Thank you so much, both are straight PL ok

I find the picture description often interesting in a quirky sort of way. The historical notes I find are too short to be of much interest and often have slightly odd ideas of history. At the start of the next volume she says "It is not known when people from civilised countries first went America". There is a Euro-centric view of the world for you. What will our American readers make of that
