[COMPLETE] Rhymes of Childhood, by Edgar A. Guest (d.1959) - tg
hmmm, I didn't name the files that way - the upload page seemed to add this????
Wondered about the decibel volume and will reduce by 4db in future, no problem. What is the ideal db volume again please?
Warmly,
Linda

The uploader doesn't add anything to the file name (although the .mp3 part might seem to appear from nowhere, it is on your file before you upload it; it's just hidden).
Ideal is 89.

Better, but it still has these issues from the original PL notes:
- Please cut the beginning silence down to between 1/2 and 1 second.
- Needs a total of 5 seconds of silence at the very end. You've got about 1.5.
- Bit rate is variable; needs to be constant.
When uploading an edited file, use the same file name as before, please. The uploader renames the old file, so the link always points to the most recent file.
Definitely still muffled, but you already knew that. If you are going to be doing a lot of recording here, I HIGHLY recommend getting a new mic. Both you and listeners will be much better pleased with the result.

Thanks!
Section 39: please amplify by 3 dB. (You may want to just raise the level of the quieter parts of the poem and leave the louder parts alone.)
Section 52, 100, 106 all PL OK! I think I heard you smiling.

Welcome!
It's MUCH easier if you list off the section numbers. Otherwise I have to go hunting for those numbers to assign you the sections.
How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Hi again Tricia.
I tried amplifying by three db but the result was super loud. I may need to learn how to amplify correctly. I did however, manage to amplify the track to something more acceptable (I hope).
Here it is:
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/rhymesofchildhood_039_guest_128kb.mp3
1:54
There were a few points in the other readings that I smiled through the text. These shorts bring back some nice memories for me.
Thanks!
Fernando

This looks great to me now. It looks like you amplified the quiet parts while leaving the louder parts alone, which is what I was after. And it clocks in at 90 dB, which is great.

Hi Tricia!
This is my first project for the site, so I think I'll start small. Could I take section 44? Thanks!
