Report on Securing and Growing the Digital Economy by The Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity.

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/report-on-securing-and-growing-the-digital-economy-by-the-commission-on-enhancing-national-cybersecurity/
President Obama formed The President's Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity on April 13, 2016 to develop a plan for protecting cyberspace and America's economic reliance upon it. The commission's final report was released in December 2016. The report examined the state of cybersecurity today, looked ahead to the challenges in the future, and made recommendations to the incoming Trump administration and future administrations on ways the military, government, and private sector should enhance cybersecurity. - Summary by TriciaG
  1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    .
  2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    .
  3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    .
  4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://web.archive.org/web/20170129103356/https://www.nist.gov/sites/default/files/documents/2016/12/02/cybersecurity-commission-report-final-post.pdf
    .
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

May I read sections 3 and 4? Not sure I can handle a modern sans serif font though....

Thanks, Todd

In view of that, may I read 0,1,2 ?

I just wonder how many of these action items actually became reality.....

Claims entered! Moving this to Readers Wanted before it's totally claimed in the Launch Pad. LOL!

Considering the report was released in December 2016, one month before a change in presidents? VERY hard to say.

Yeah, well consider who the new administration is, I could make a guess.....: roll:

Quick question: What do you prefer to have for the intro and outro on Section 00?
I always found "Section zero" a little odd and usually substitute "Preface" or "Introduction" as the case may be. Here it is a bit different. I recorded it several ways, so maybe one of them will be right, but thought I'd ask before submitting.

May I claim sections 8, 9, and 10 please?

This would be my first read of text including footnotes. Any guidance on reading these - i.e. after the sentence referencing or not at all? I have seen some pretty complicated URL's that would be strange to read but I'm happy to do so.
Thank you,
JD Gibson

I'm happy if you say something like "Introductory material of..." or "Prefatory material of..." Did you record it that way?

If not, let me know the choices.

8-10 are yours!

Skip the footnotes altogether, please. I didn't see any that were "interesting" or added to the material; they were all just references.

I would like to take
section 13 Appendix 1: Imperatives, Recommendations, and Action Items
Thank You!

P.S. do you have any preference for the reading of 1.2.3 whether it be:
one dot two dot three
or
one point two point three
?

Got it! Whichever you prefer - dot or point. If I were doing it, "point" would be more natural for me, but you can do either. :)

Okay, here is Section Zero. Just let me know if you would prefer something different for the intro/outro.
