The Black Cat Vol. 01 No. 05 February 1896 by Various ( - ).
This project is now complete! All audio files can now be found on the catalog page for this project https://librivox.org/black-cat-01-05-feb1896-by-various/
The Black Cat (1895-1922) was a monthly literary magazine, publishing original short stories, often about uncanny or fantastical topics. Many writers were largely unknown, but some famous authors also wrote original material for this magazine.
The fifth issue has the following 6 stories:
"The mysterious card", by Cleveland Moffet / "Tang-u", by Lawrence E. Adams / "The little brown mole", by Clarice Irene Clinghan / "A telepathic wooing", by James Buckham / "The prince ward", by Claude M. Girardeau / "A meeting of royalty", by Margaret Dodge.
( Sonia)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.

Claiming is restricted to one section per reader, to have the maximum of different voices in this project.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/stream/TheBlackCatV01no12189609/The Black Cat v01no05 (1896-02)#mode/2up
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

And we're back in the game with the fifth issue of the Black Cat :9: 6 stories are awaiting to be brought to life by interested narrators.

As before, I want to keep this as a one-story-per-reader-project so we can have the maximum of readers in this magazine series.

The project is now officially open for claims. Looking forward to the stories.

I love to read, AND my employer matches my volunteer hours with a donation to the Internet Archive, flagged to benefit Librivox.org. How cool is that?

thank you Nemo, and what a truly delightful and romantic story this was :9: I totally loved it. And it reminds me extremely of "lucid dreaming", a concept that always fascinated me. Of course Dr Amsden goes a step further here, but well, this is fiction (or is it ? :hmm: ) It would be cool if one could do this (and scary too, depending on who is going to use that method on you :? )

And with that we have our first PL ok section for this project. And I might see you in the next one again ;)

super, a new voice in the mix :D welcome aboard Helen. I'll assign Section 5 for you, but for that I would need to know what Reader name you want to go by, your real name, forum name or something else ? Let me know, then I'll open your reader page for you and assign it to you officially.

For all details concerning correct intro and outro, as well as file-naming, please read the first post carefully.

And that makes us fully claimed, and I move us over to Readers Found. :9:
