Section 14
The volume is too low. We look for a volume of 89dB, with a range of 86-92dB usually acceptable. Your file is 79dB. It is easy to amplify in Audacity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_z607awyLw
Everything else is great.

Hi again Lynnet,
After an eight month trip, it is good to be home and back in the saddle again.

Anyway, thanks
So, looking pick up a section. would it be possible to read for section 13 - Chapter 9?
I recorded a chapter of a Wilke Collins novel several years ago and due to some personal issues ended up abandoning several subsequent chapters. Now looking to get back to this interest. If you need a re-submission of the one minute test and or need to know the other one i recorded, let me know. I have since upgraded the hardware i am using as well if that matters to you. Anyway, hoping to get into this again and look forward to doing some work.
Thank,
Chris

We had a big change in how things work in 2013, so if your previous submission predates that, you may have a lot to learn. As for repeating your test, it is up to you, but it is recommended.
In the meantime, I will assign you section 13.

I WISH I could use audacity - I run a google chrome book and I cannot get it to run, neither the other ' normal ' applications. This is what I get for buying a budget laptop lol

I shortened it by a second, 18:48 , and boosted the db range by what should have been 10. I hope this is better for you, and sorry for the difficulty

I am not familiar with the chrome book, but you could post in the “need help” forum and there may be someone who can help (it’s where the techies congregate — the furthest possible from yours truly...)

Haha alright I'll check that out!!! Thanks much!
Hi all! The prodigal son returns . I always regretted not going through with recording this whole book, so I couldn't be happier to see that it's found new life as a group project! If it's alright, I'd like to record chapter 13 (sections 19-21).

Getting closer, but still too low, I'm afraid. Now it's 84dB.otiosus wrote: ↑May 3rd, 2020, 12:30 pmLynnet wrote: ↑May 1st, 2020, 3:46 pm Section 14

I'm also seeing the background noise rising, so when you have finished amplifying, run some noise cleaning.
If you have too much trouble, let me know and I will see what I can do.
Section 19 is done, don't expect such a fast turnaround on the other two sections, I happened to not be too busy today

Assuming the PL doesn't catch something I missed, I should have the next section up within a week or so.
