Hi all. I notice no one has claimed chapter 2 "A hand". I've made a recording of it (It was my first effort at anything longer than a bible verse). I'm not very happy with it, both for performance reasons and technical. I got in a bit of a mess with the editing (Note to self: In Reaper set it to Ribbon editing- per track, NOT all tracks!) and some of the takes have a slightly different sound to them due to being recorded on different days in different locations.

If you are interested in taking a listen I can post it on here and if you think it is good enough feel free to use it, just let me know and I'll upload it.

Well, why don't you go ahead and submit your recording. I've put you in for this in the Magic Window.
There certainly is a lot to learn in the beginning, but we're all here to help and offer suggestions, although I've never heard of Reaper, so can't help much there. We'll give you an idea of how it sounds, though. Still, it is also you who has to be happy with the quality of the recording. But, it is common not to be totally satisfied with one's own results. It's never perfect.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing your rendition of The Hand.

Thank you so much! I was a little worried about this one because I recorded it in my car yesterday afternoon - my husband had to go to a hospital for outpatient treatment, but of course they didn't allow me in due to the pandemic, so I passed several hours in the car with my laptop and Kindle.

I wouldn't mind doing Section 12, "A Child in Camp," for a change of pace.

Yeah, well that will be me next week. My wife finally got her minor outpatient surgery rescheduled, so I'll be doing the automotive waiting room thing. No recording, though. Maybe I'll listen to something.

Brings back memories of my first LV recording. Couldn't find a quiet place where we were then. Even the shed didn't work - noisy birds. So, I did it in the car.
That was six years ago this month.
