Howdy, LibriVox readership!
Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I just opened my account today, and am super psyched to be a part of this magnificent endeavor. That being said, I wanted to reach out and ask whether the following books were public domain, and by extension, could be recorded. I've read some articles, and it seems that the golden rule is that if something is recorded before the year 1923 it is in public domain. Interestingly enough, three of the four books I wanted to suggest were published in 1923! What are the odds?
- The Great American Novel by William Carlos Williams (Originally published in 1923) https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/63888
- The World Crisis by Winston Churchill (Originally published in 1923) Vol 1: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/59794
- Antic Hay by Aldoux Huxley (Originally published in 1923)[COMPLETE]
- The Constant Nymph by Margaret Kennedy (Originally published in 1924) https://archive.org/details/constantnymph0000kenn
I look forward to your responses. One of my favorite aspects (though there are many) of this community is its passion for literature and its compassion for its members. Thanks for being so welcoming, and thanks for being so willing to help out.
Much Love,
