Good morning, Larry--
I almost mentioned yesterday that I'd be available to assist with another project, so I appreciate your consideration. Count me in for DPL on this and I'll get started later today.

Thanks,
Lora

Thanks for having me.

For now just have me listed as JB.

First go through and edit for review:
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/oneverything_38_novissima_hora_128kb.mp3
File duration: 10:43
This is great!
Your are in, so just click on your name in the Magic Window to view your catalog page where you can track all of your LV work, of which I hope there will be much! Your reading is just excellent!

Just a couple of things:

First, the file name is incorrect. Instead of the name of the poem, you should have just the name of the author, so it should be https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/oneverything_38_belloc_128kb.mp3

Then, you might want to consider a bit more noise reduction. The background hum is still noticeable, although within acceptable limits. And, I'd add just another second of silence at the end.

Our new DPL will be along to give you a full report.

Got it, I just got some acoustic panels that I'm working on creating a makeshift workspace ( i unfortunately don't have a good naturally quiet workspace at the moment), but in the meantime I ran another noise reduction and it appears to have removed any residual hum.

Also fixed the file name, because I can follow instructions. Mostly. :)

Excellent!

Most of us have makeshift workspaces.
I have hopes of something more professional, but still waiting for a few more things to fall into place. Finding quite time is the challenge. We now live in a quiet environment, six acres of New Hampshire woods, which is better than being on a four-lane Main street where the trucks shook the house. (Short stay, thankfully). But with the grandkids home all day now . . . .

Anyway, you are a talented reader, so I hope we'll hear a lot more from you in the days ahead.

Larry,
I just familiarized myself with the project tonight and will PL tomorrow. I'll let you know if I have questions; a lot of reading has been done and it may take me a brief time to catch up!

Thanks,
Lora

Hello Abdullah and welcome to LibriVox!

After listening to your recording of Section #6, I have a few notes for your review:
Volume: MP3 Gain and Checker each rated the file at 83.7. The usual range is 87-91, so some amplification will be needed. Larry or Tricia can help you with instructions on how to adjust that.

Text notes for meaning clarification: at:46 "affection" should be "affectation"
at :2:54 and 2:57 "owing" should be "owning"
at :4:09 "reserved" should be "reversed"
at 7:07 both instances of "session" should be "season"
at 7:39 "session" should be "season"

Once corrections are made, I'll listen again for them and mark the section PL Okay.
Many thanks!

Hi James,
Thank you for recording Section #7. I have just a few comments for your review:
**at :23 please add the title "A Little Conversation in Herefordshire"
**at 2:16 "playing" should be "paying"
**at 2:33 please omit "a" before "shooting"
**please shorten the silence between 10:23-10:30 to 1 or 2 seconds
**at 10:37 omit "End of On Everything....." since it's not the end of the entire book.

Thanks again-I'll check back soon to listen to the revisions. Please post the new file time as well.

Hello Owen and welcome to LibriVox--
Great to have your recording-thank you. I tested the volume of your file on MP3 Gain and Checker, and it registers at only 81.8 dB; the range is usually 87-91. Amplification will be needed and Larry or Tricia can help with instructions on how to adjust that. The reading was fine--Please shorten your ending silence by 2 seconds and check for the omission of background noise at 1:43, 3:07, 3:26, and a small pop at 8:30.

I'll check back in a bit for revisions--thanks again!
