Here is Little Nell. What a sad ending! Though I suppose at least they were together again at the end of it all.

I would say about 75% of the stories I read for this book had sad endings. It was surprising!

Jen,
Lovely job. PL OK. Can you even imagine how heart wrenching the full story is?

Hi all.

Had a few minutes to check some things this morning. Will try to have mine done next week. Just been crazy with everything else going on, and trying to stay working. Appreciate your patience very much.

Thanks for giving an update. Be healthy and don't worry about this; Dickens will be here for quite a while. As will LibriVox! :D

Ugh, my attempts to record "The Little Kenwigs" seem cursed! I recorded the whole thing yesterday, and realized when I was editing that the noise of construction across the street came through in a constant drone with occasional clanks. I could filter most of the drone but couldn't do anything about the clanking in the midst of sentences. So I decided to re-record this morning, hoping to get it done before work started. No luck, they were at it earlier than I was but I managed to record all but the last page and a half before they really got going. I've filtered and edited what I had and it's in pretty good shape, so I just have to wait for them to knock off for lunch or for the day and squeeze in the last bit! I'll get it done though!

Yes, it is frustrating Colleen. I know the feeling: all ready to record and the lawn mower starts up next door, etc. etc. But this will pass. be patient and they will stop sometime. :D

Section 6 is finished (whew!)

So I got up at 6:30 this morning to try to get in some recording before the construction people got going -- they started at 6:45!
I cussed a little and went to do some other things, then around 7:45 noticed...silence! I guess they had hit a break point. I decided to see if I could squeeze in the last couple of minutes of this piece, and I literally JUST finished when they started up again. :D

They are currently using an excavator to pick up and dump debris into a large metal dumpster, so that's it for recording for the time being! So happy to have gotten this finished though. I'll have to try again tonight with my other stuff when the workday is over...
