There is no need to claim in Short Works projects like these. As soon as you get an okay on your test, you can record your story and submit! If you are unsure if your selection is public domain or not, please ask before recording!

There will be another collection after this one is full!

I am new at this and this is my first recording using the software Audacity. Any suggestions on how to: "Be sure to set your recording software to 44100Hz, 16-bit"

Good Evening,

I am new to Librivox. I was wondering if I could do a Brothers Grimm Fairytale for this volume? I was thinking The Mouse, The Bird, and The Sausage.
I went ahead and tried to record it but if it is not good for this I understand and will find something else.

I have a question. What, again, is the range for volume? I use mp3 gain as my volume controller. On this one it showed 89.6. Is that too low? I know that my recordings are usually in the 82-83 range, and I use mp3 gain as the software to bring it up to snuff. Do you think I need to change the setting there? This is the first one I have turned in where the volume was considered too soft.

Hi Wayne,

The first file was reading 84 DB for me, and the second was 86.3. We ask for between 86 and 92 DB. The ideal is around 89.
If you could try amplifying it in Audacity or whatever program you use for editing, before you use mp3gain, that might help.

On the second one I used Audacity and bumped it up by about 4 db and it sounded loud. I don't know what happened with it, but this is the first time that there has been a problem, and I have been using MP3 gain for my entire time, and the listing shows just over 89 for all of my contributions (83 of them). You were the MC on Catriona (TrishG was the DPL) an we have worked together on three previous CSW (27,28 and 29) and the settings are exactly the same as on those, and there wasn't a problem. Strange indeed.
