wohooo, a first I think, I am all caught up now, just listened to the last section of Tolstoy and of Turgenev. I didn't know any stories by Turgenev yet, even though he is very famous. Need to check up on him. I loved your старик-voice

Only a few small notes, mainly some cuts:

Section 12:

> from 21:02-21:05: (p. 134) between "другъ къ другу" and "Толстой забылъ эти слова свои" - pause a bit long

Section 13:

> from 3:27-3:30: (p. 138) between "я перестаю быть лишнимъ" and "Тургеневъ всегда и начинаетъ" - pause too long
> from 5:54-6:01: (p. 138) repetition "Онъ внимательно смотрѣлъ на *казнь Тропмана и спокойно ее изобразилъ" and a finger snapping, can be cut
> from 10:28-10:31: (p. 140) between "какъ нѣчто всячески далекое" and "Свое слишкомъ спокойное отношеніе" - pause too long

thank you, and have a nice weekend

I like his stories better than his novels, I agree with many of Eichenwald's points.
Tovarisch did an excellent job on Turgenev at LV, including short stories, https://librivox.org/a-sportsmans-sketches-by-ivan-turgenev/. Sadly, he couldn't finish the Russian version due to source text disagreements :( .

It looks like I started paying more attention on reading the text, but got sloppier on editing
All your feedback is taken care of, tracks times corrected (BTW, do we use track length for anything beside helping PLers to plan their time? Do we need to be precise to the second :?: )
I loved your старик-voice
Thank you! :9: You would hear more of voice modulations in sec.15 :-) But, of course, no rush!
Two more sections:

it's also good to know the length for when I download I immediately see whether the file was broken and didn't fully download.

wohoo yes, now in section 15 you unleashed your dramatic voices  I nearly got a heart attack with the first very growling voice  And the old woman lamenting was so funny. Highly entertaining, thank you Mark. Both sections PL ok.

why did you decide to do the two books in one project ? You could als have stopped here and started the final project ? Or is there another book after this ?

I checked both sections now, and 17 is already PL ok

but found 2 small things for Section 16:

> at 0:09: missed part of intro: "Эта запись проекта ЛибриВокс находится в общественном достоянии"

> at 14:48-14:52: (p. 5) repetition: "и такъ описываетъ онъ" - can be cut, also a snapping finger !

thank you, Mark, great readings again, it's a pleasure to listen to. :9: And for once I am all caught up here again.

Have a nice weekend

Thank you, Sonia, your help is, as always, greatly appreciated!

Yes, I plan one more Silhouettes project based on the Y.E. book published in 1923, and I hope to read that one in its entirety (and hope, maybe presumptuously, that you would agree to PL it too 8-) ). Therefore here I skip the sections that are reprinted / rewritten for that book. I merged these two sources to avoid a short book; the current source would only have 7 short sections. I know, LV has no problem with that, but that's my personal preference.

Sec.16 is fixed and 18 uploaded:

Thanks again, and no rush again :-)

I see what I can do....right now I am a bit running behind all my projects...

Section 16 at least is PL ok now. 18 has to wait a bit...

I was a bit faster again :9: lots of good poetry in here again, thank you Mark. And the mention "with a capital letter" was a good idea to differentiate between the two words.

Just one small cut required:

> at 7:17-7:22: (p. 17) repetition can be cut: "Особенно во времена Одоевскаго стѣна"

all caught up so far 8-)

had some time still so I enjoyed a bit of devilish poetry  everything perfectly PL ok this time :)

Only one small note, but nothing to change unless you want to. It's more a thought I had:

> at 10:28: (p. 25) "Онъ отдается «преступной» мечтѣ" - here I had to listen twice because I heard a word injected, then I understood that you said "в кавычках". To me this is already conveyed in the special tone of voice you are doing (a few lines down there are plenty of "" and you don't mention any of them, so I wondered why here ?), but it's also fine like that. I was pleased that at least I had already learnt that word in my Russian studies, so I knew what you said. Always proud of myself when I see progress in my learning.

Thanks

Sonia, I think you are making wonderful progress with your Russian, glad I am helping with that :9:
Here I wanted to make sure listeners do not get the idea that the thought might be really criminal, so I did not trust my voice modulation :)

Sec.20,21, Языков and Бенедиктов here
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/silhouettes2_20_aykhenvald_128kb.mp3 [21:10]
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/silhouettes2_21_aykhenvald_128kb.mp3 [26:03]

YA said well what Языков deserves for his idiotic chauvinism; separate apologies from me for what you would have to listen to.
