Narrator for 107, 6:22

I liked this poem! Classic epic verse with rhymes!

thank you Kate and Adam, MW again updated (I don't know where Tomas has drifted off :hmm: )

Kate: I suppose the file numbers in each of your narrations is differently, otherwise you will have overwritten the first file with the last one. :?

I'm so sorry, I don't know what's up with me and uploading the wrong files... I'll upload the correct ones asap.

Sorry again, here are the correct files now:

The Baron's last Banquet:

The Leper:
https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldsbestpoetry7_2_080_narrator_various_128kb.mp3

Napoleon and the British Sailor:

Edit: I also finished the narrator of Horatius at the bridge - which was, I have to admit, quite a challenge

Three more small DRs, all falling in the seefarer-category

Hervé Riel - Squadron:
https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldsbestpoetry7_2_088_squadron_various_128kb.mp3

The Revenge - Sailors:

The Fight of the Armstrong Privateer - Dying Sailor:
https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldsbestpoetry7_2_107_dyingsailor_various_128kb.mp3

Also, the files seem to actually be all correct this time

Since I've got only two DRs left which are very close to completion, I'd like to offer to do more editing if this ist still wanted and needed. If so, I'd like to edit sections 100, 104 and 106, please.

thank you, Kate, I put you in the MW for these 3 sections. If you wish you can PL already the roles that are in. Other than that, there is nothing ready to edit yet. But I guess once Tomas and Jason start working, all the sections will be finishing up at the same time

Have a nice weekend

And here are my final DR parts:

Frithiof at the Court of Angantyr - Narrator:
https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldsbestpoetry7_2_074_narrator_various_128kb.mp3

The Heart of the Bruce:
https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldsbestpoetry7_2_105_narrator_various_128kb.mp3

To whoever will do the PL for #74: I had some problems with the volume with this one. Checker and ReplayGain plugin seemed to differ by 5 dB. I amplified the volume to get the file to pass the Checker, but to me it seems that ReplayGain was right. I still have a backup so changing and reuploading would only be a matter of minutes. I'm not really sure what happened here, especially since #105 (recorded and edited the same day) was fine... :hmm:

checker tells me it's at 88.9, seems fine to me. Do you feel it's too loud ?

Yes, I think it's way too loud, the audio quality suffered quite a bit and it got clipped (at least I think that's what you call it). I think there might be something wrong with the file so that Checker doesn't show the correct volume, though I don't know what that might be. I think the Audio sounds fine when Checker reads it at 83.9

hmm no I listened to the part that looked loudest just now and to me it sounds fine. My replaygain also gives me the exact same readings as checker. :hmm: Maybe there were a few clippings before you decreased the volume to the correct limits. A clipping can never be undone even if you decrease and if the sound was distorted from the start by excessive clipping, then even decreasing will keep the distorted sound. That's why it's so important not to clip from the first reading onwards.

Do you have the "show clipping" box ticked ? (under VIEW in the menu) I would recommend it, then you will see while you record red lines appear where the audio is clipped. I watch the waves while I record and as soon as I see a red line, I repeat that sentence in a lower tone, so I can cut out the clipped sentence.

I always have to increase the volume a lot, I normally never decrease it - probably my input level is too low. If the file sounded fine to you, though, maybe it's just me  Thanks for checking! :9:

I just listened to the parts already uploaded for sections 3 , 100, 104 and 106 and I have only two small remarks concerning section 106, the rest are all PL ok as far as I'm concerned :D

@ Adam: Your part in 106 misses the voice credits but I guess you don't want to stay anonymous for this one?

@ Sonia: I listend to the file a couple of times, but I keep hearing "full" instead of "foul" at 00:25. Maybe you (or someone else here) could give it another listen to see if it needs to be changed? If you do decide to change it, you also swapped "the seer" for "a seer" at 2:50, maybe you want to correct that to? But since it doesn't change the meaning, this would be optional, of course.
