Hi Ben. I am assigning section 7 to you but before you record it please get the OK on your 1 minute test. This is just a way to be sure your technical specs match what we use here. Your welcome email has instructions on how to do this. If you need help, just give a shout! :D

One minute test recorded, uploaded and logged in the Listeners & Editors Wanted thread. For redundancy I will also post the link to my one-minute submission here:

Section 7 PL notes:

You have a lovely reading voice! However, there is a technical issue with your file. Have you heard of Checker? You can check the technical specifications of your files against LibriVox standards using the program - https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker.

The volume of your recording is too low at 84.8 dB. We aim for about 89 dB, with an acceptable range of 87-91 dB. Your file will need to be amplified by +4. In Audacity, select the whole record. Click Effect > Amplify. In the Amplification box, enter the number 4. Verify that the file is around 89 dB using Checker, then reupload using the same file name. Post in this thread when you have uploaded the edited file. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for the compliment and the notes! I really appreciate it! Anything to help me get better and sound more professional :)

I'll have the clip uploaded again as soon as I make the necessary adjustments.

Hi Ashley and a big welcome to LibriVox! :D I have assigned that section to you but before you record it, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. Instructions can be found in our Wiki and in the first post of this project but Here is a video that may help too: How to Make your 1 minute test.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlaRY_-bcfs and then How to Upload your 1 minute test How to Upload your 1 minute test

(You may post the link to your test in this forum and I will see it much more quickly)

I also recommend Getting To Know our Forums Getting To Know Our Forums

Also how would you like to be credited in our catalog? what name? Many people use their real names but it is up to you. Your forum name is fine too.
