Hello again, April...I have a Q:
Can you please remind me, what is the time limit for each section?
I have an estimated word count of 6365 for section 9.
Since I read pretty slowly, I'm concerned I might run up against the time limit.
Thank you...LJB
Hello,
The typical time limit is 2 months
Though I will give you longer if you would like. 1 month extension if that would help you?
April
I meant the time limit for a recording, i.e., the duration of the fabulous piece of audio that I will produce.
But I see how my Q can be interpreted in myriad ways.

Hello Louise,
The time frame for recording your section is however long it takes you to record all of the words in it. No limit that I am aware of.

I thought there was a limit of 60-70 minutes per section, based on CD capacity...?

Louise,
You're correct - sections should be no more than about 70 minutes. I've seen different exact numbers, but 70 is close. It's tied to the length of a CD. I suggest you read the entire section and then check back if it ends up being more than 70 minutes. April can help you decide how to split it in that case.

Hi MaryAnn,
Thanks for the CD/70 info.
I think your reference to the 1-Minute Test might be for someone else...?
I don't see anything there relating to the CD/70 info.
(unless I'm missing it...)

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought a new reader had posted to claim a section and still needed to submit a 1 minute test ... maybe it was a different thread.
MaryAnn
No problem; I think it was a few posts back in this thread.

Hello Louise, if your recording does indeed go past 70 minutes I will help you out since Mary Ann has suggested that I help you split it in that case. You were spot on with the mention of the time per section. Thank you, now I know...
I do have one comment on sound quality. Especially in the first of these, I think the noise reduction was overdone - i.e.,
you can reduce the amount of noise reduction applied. There is a balance to be found between residual background noise
and distortion of the reading, and I think you erred to much on the side of reducing the noise.
