Took my eye off this thread for a little while and suddenly lots of things got uploaded.

Beautifully read, Laurence, I enjoyed listening to you reading.
Just these issues:
Technical. Your volume is outside the Librivox standard - it's a little too loud on this (and your other recording) at around 94 dB.
It's a good idea to make sure your recordings pass the basic technical test before uploading. Checker is very useful for this: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker
You need to lower it please. reduce it. Let me know if you n eed help on this. I ran it through Compressor on Audacity which worked nicely, and also removed the wide spread of dBs from low to high

~ 1.45 - Please remove the footnote. Post 1 (always the source of definitive info for each projects ) says: "please don't include any of the following in your recording: footnotes, books and authors quoted in brackets!"

~5.31 repeated phrase

Optionally, would you consider removing one of your attributions? Having your long one both at the beginning as well as the end of what is essentially a short recording feels like overkill to me.
Great job reading though. I look forward to more.

Here is section 12.

https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/evolutionmodernmedicine_12_osler_128kb.mp3

I'm not quite sure how long it is, Ithink around 7 minutes, but I can report back soon...

Laurence
Hi again Laurence. Another beautifully done reading.

But again,it is TOO LOUD, over 94.1 dB. Please reduce it to meet Librivox standards.
Optionally, consider having only one attribution, rather than at both ends of the recording.

Here is the corrected section 5.

https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/evolutionmodernmedicine_05_osler_128kb.mp3

Laurence
Thank you. The volume is now perfect (great work) and the footnote is gone.
But the repeated phrase 'but the mental attitude toward disease...' is still there (around 5:23) and the end silence has now ballooned to >1 minute (instead of the standard of 5 secs).

And could you supply the new length each time you submit a corrected version please?

Laurence
Thank you for this one also.
Volume now perfect.
But the end silence (should be 5 full secs) is far too long, > 1m.
And would you please supply the recording length?

Here is section 13. It is 7:18 in length...

Laurence
Hi Laurence
Another nice reading. I liked the saying 'Joy, temperance and repose Slam the door on the doctor's nose.' Reminds me of our An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Again, recording is Too Loud - please reduce volume to around 89 dB.

~ 0:27 The proper Section title is "MEDIAEVAL MEDICINE, South Italian School" followed by
~ 5:15, MEDIAEVAL MEDICINE, Byzantine Medicine". Please insert the words you have omitted (highligted in red)

These edits needed:

~ 3:40 text says "the writings, which are numerous..." I hear innumerous (?)

~ 4:35 text says "and the lines begin..." I hear began

~ 6:22 text says 'from Byzantium we have...' I hear Byzantanium

~ 6:40 text says 'one of the great treasures of the..' I hear treasurers

Consider removing one of the recording attributions (optional)

Hint: if you had done that, and compared it with the previous length, you'd have seen your new recording is even longer than the one it replaces, which doesn't make sense. Same for 12 also.

Thank you for your patience! Here is Section 11, at 14:33:

https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/evolutionmodernmedicine_11_osler_128kb.mp3

N.B. I corrected a typo in the Latin around 4:35: tegigere > tetigere. (I also reuploaded the file as I got the header wrong the first time—hopefully this doesn't cause any issues.)
Perfect. Beautifully read. Thank you for a job requiring no PL edits at all.
