Rome by Emile Zola (1840 - 1902). Translated by Ernest Alfred Vizetelly (1853 - 1922)

The Abbe Froment, after his experiences in Lourdes, has written a book expressing a vision of a new enlightened papacy. He visits Rome to defend this book against condemnation and seeks audience with the Pope. The book enters into an elaboration of the many wonders of the city of Rome. ( Peter Tucker)

  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi,
I plan to revise and enlarge the summary after reading is finished.
I have optimistically requested 16 sections based on the number of chapters, but as these are quite long, there is a likelihood than they will need to be split in two to get in under 70 minutes. I'll have to see how it goes.

Hi Ann,
As I thought, I'm going to have to split each chapter into two parts, which will make 32 sections in all. I have taken the liberty of adding another 16 sections to the MW. About to upload the first.
Kind regards
Peter
