Autobiography of an Actress; or Eight Years on the Stage by Anna Cora Mowatt Ritchie (1819 - 1870).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/autobiography-of-an-actress-by-anna-cora-mowatt-ritchie/
Anna Cora Mowatt was the author of the first Broadway comedy hit written by a woman. Her 1845 play “Fashion” is still performed today. She was also the first woman to professionally perform solo public readings of literature in the U.S. In pre-Civil War America, she was a popular novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, and correspondent. Autobiography of an Actress tells the dramatic story of her life and her struggles to overcome the anti-theatrical prejudices of her day. ( Kelly S. Taylor)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/autobiographyof00ritc/page/n5/mode/2up
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I changed the section numbers so that they match the chapter numbers. The audio files now have the correct numbers in their file name. Btw, file length is limited to about 70m. I notice that you already have one that is 58m. Files longer than 70m would need to be split into two files/sections.
