The Attalus parts in. A part that seems to exist solely to make Creon's villainous monologues into a somewhat more organic set of conversations.

Thank you.

yes agreed. And he is a bit of a sycophant in his replies. But in the end he genuinely seems to care for him. Well Creon is his boss so it's probably understandableAdamBielka wrote: ↑March 30th, 2020, 11:36 am The Attalus parts in. Excellent job, Adam, thank you so much. Acts 4 and 5 are straight PL ok. I especially love the final outburst.
Two corrections for Act 3 though:
> for the voice credit, please always refer to the MW and read the whole description, here: "Attalus, confidential friend of Creon, read by Adam Bielka"
> at about 1:20: (p. 38) missed the final lines for this act:
"More than aught else you have yourself to dread,
Remorse may torture brows that wear a crown."
thank you
Sonia

oh villmols merci (better switch back to English though, for the benefit of our monolingual editor in chief )AdamBielka wrote: ↑March 31st, 2020, 12:34 pm Ech hunn d'Korrekture gemaach!

There is a tiny discrepancy, which I think is significant though, as I think without this word the sentence is not complete:
"More than aught else you have yourself to dread,
Remorse may torture brows that wear a crown."

Ahh! Annoying to mess up the same line twice in a row! This is turning into another Bingle! : "aught else" is just such an non-inintuitive way of phrasing things!

what, you mean to say you don't use this expression in your everyday speech. I cannot think of aught else that would convey the meaning of thisAdamBielka wrote: ↑March 31st, 2020, 1:21 pm"aught else" is just such an non-inintuitive way of phrasing things!
It's PL ok now

Act 1 of Eteocles awaits in the MW. I made him a proud and pompous imperial with a disdain for peace. I would easily have said aught else if the line had come my way. (Looks down nose at the mere mortals licking his boots.)
I am glad my brother and I get along better than Eteocles and his brother!
Thanks, Todd

I must have done something wrong in your upbringing.
Yes you sound a right pompous king here throughout the whole scene. Wonderfully performed and I think your part in the dialogue with Jocasta will sound great. (is this a way to treat your mother ? ) Looking forward to Act 2 !!! This one is PL ok in any case.
I think even Cain and Abel got along better than those twoI am glad my brother and I get along better than Eteocles and his brother!
Thank you
Here's more of Antigone!

a very touching soliloquy in the 3rd act, excellently acted out, full of emotions. I nearly wept with you. Thank you Lydia, these two are PL okLydiaCW wrote: ↑April 6th, 2020, 12:19 pm Here's more of Antigone!

Eteocles, THE one and only true king of Thebes, awaits your PL in the MW.
Thanks, Todd (Rex)
Thanks, Todd (Rex)
someone really has the need to assert himself here. Well, my dear, it's a mother's right to box you on the ear if needs be, REX or not.
You sound excellently regal even in your unrelenting hubris. I especially love the tone of voice when you speak about your undying hatred for your brother. Very aptly conveyed, spitting venom almost. Well done.
Totally PL ok.
thanks

As we are nearly done here, I figured Hemon ought to make an appearance sooner rather than later.
