Thank you. It's a fun text to read.

Not really. I did some amateur dramatics as a kid and I suppose my profession involved some theatrical training in the sense of voice projection and stage presence - aren't all public speaking trainers 'resting' actors? :).

Other than that I've often been accused of loving the sound of my own voice - which is so not true. Like most people I listen to myself and think "That's not me. I sound much better than that!".

Could I take on section 1 next?

Sure!

When anyone heard recordings of my dad, they always thought it was Henry Cooper (the boxer). Yet he didn’t sound like him in real life :hmm:

I'd be happy to do chapters 2 and 3.

HI,

I'm just about to upload chapter 3.

I'll be happy to do chapters 5 and 6 ... okay?

Just listening with delight to chapter four, and caught two phrases repeated and a mispronunciation:

7:40 minutes ... "I know I am quite right"
21:35 ... She rather wanted the place..."
22:10 table d'hote - (aspirated h)

Please accept this in the friendly and, I hope helpful, spirit in which it's meant. I mention the above knowing If it were my recording I'd want to know.

🙃

Thanks... but we don't comment on pronunciation. There are too many different ways of saying things ("You say tomaytoe, I say tomahto...")

I'd like to read section 9 about the Japanned Dispatch-Box, please. :D

For all of you who are not quite up to date at what is happening in the deepest recesses of our forums, I'd like to take the opportunity to mention that next month's staff picks are concerned with Africa. Thank you.
