The Black Cat Vol. 01 No. 03 December 1895 by Various ( - ).
This project is now complete! All audio files can now be found on the catalog page for this project https://librivox.org/black-cat-01-03-dec1895-by-various/
The Black Cat (1895-1922) was a monthly literary magazine, publishing original short stories, often about uncanny or fantastical topics. Many writers were largely unknown, but some famous authors also wrote original material for this magazine.
The following 6 stories were included in this third issue:
"The great star ruby", by Barnes MacGreggor, pseud. of H. D. Umbstaetter (1851-1913) / "The interrupted banquet", by René Bache (1861-1933) / "The archangel", by James Q. Hyatt / "Asleep at Lone Mountain", by H. D. Umbstaetter (1851-1913) / "Kootchie", by Harold Kinsabby, pseud. of H. D. Umbstaetter (1851-1913) / "Frazer's find", by Roberta Littlehale ( Sonia)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen.

Claiming is restricted to one section per reader, to have the maximum of different voices in this project.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/stream/TheBlackCatV01no12189609/The Black Cat v01no03 (1895-12)#mode/2up
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

And here is the third instalment of the Black Cat magazine. Six crisp new stories are awaiting eager readers. :9:

Nemo already wanted me to choose for him, so I assigne The archangel to him. I hope you're having fun with the story. :)

As before and for the rest of this series, I want to keep this as a one-story-per-reader-project, as I think having each story narrated by another voice is a wonderful mix. :9:

The project is now officially launched.

you were fast, Nemo, thank you. This was a bit of a strange story. Not really sure what happened to the girl. So this was all a boys' prank in the end ? :hmm: A bit nasty, but wouldn't warrant shooting a person  Loved the accent you're doing here for the old man

Our first section is PL ok.

And I think it's time to move out of the launch pad.

hello and welcome to this project. Great to hear a new voice in here :) I see your one-minute-test had volume issues, so if you need help with that, just ask :)

Meanwhile I'll reserve section 5 for you. All the specifics for the correct intro/outro and filenaming are in the first post.

Have fun 8-) and thanks for your interest in the Black Cat. Now I am curious who or what Kootchie is
