This is my first time reading. Please use Cindy-Joy Wright-Smith as my name.
hi Cindy, and welcome to LibriVox :)

Thank you for your interest in the World Story series, and I can reserve you both sections for the time being.

However, before you start recording, we strongly advice to complete a one-minute-test first. This is to check that the technical settings are all up to LV standard.
You can read all about it here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test
Please post the test in the Listeners Wanted forum: viewforum.php?f=21 and someone will check it and give you feedback or advice if needed.

As soon as the test is ok'ed, please post the results back here, and then I can assign you the sections officially. At that point I will also open a reader page for you.

For the moment, I will reserve the sections for you for one month, to give you time to sort out the test. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

Good luck with the test ! And see you soon :)

Thank you! I probably should apologize to all the Scots who might listen to this and my slaughtering of the name "Monteith"...

Edit: sorry, I thought you were talking to me... But still, the apology stands nevertheless.
Cheers, Ava.

thank you, Availle. I cannot recall this episode from the Mel Gibson movie, but it's been year since I've watched it, so it may well have been in there. I don't think you butchered the names, everything sounds really good.

Just a little footnote omission, which I would like to have included:

> at about 3:31: you forgot the footnote for abthanes: "Footnote – Superior thanes, or gentry – end of footnote"

> from 8:34-8:37: between "upon his victims" and "from Rutherglen": the pause feels a bit overly long here

thank you !

thank you, Sarah, for these two shorties on Scottish history :9: nicely read again, and Section 71 is straight PL ok.

However I found two small but significant errors in Section 61:

> at 1:09: "interpreted by the fiery preaching of John Knox" – you say "interrupted" which is a change in meaning. And since you want pronunciation corrections as well, "fiery" means "full of fire", and it's also pronounced like that /fire-ry/ not /feer-ry/.

thanks :)

I'll be seeing you in the next book for sure 8-)

I really appreciate your careful PLing. :9:

Here's the updated section:
https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume10_061_tappan_128kb.mp3

I've re-recorded this part "Interpreted by the fiery preaching of John Knox" at 1:09. Please let me know whether they are okay or not.

Thanks! And talk to you on Friday. :D

perfectly PL ok now, thank you so much, Sarah. Great edits, I wouldn't hear a difference in audio quality from the rest of the sentence
