Yes, you read the characters in each scene. In a Moliere that takes the place of saying who enters or has left the stage between scenes. In fact, it is really the majority of what you get to say. As Sonia said, this is not a Pinero.adrianstephens wrote: ↑January 27th, 2020, 4:42 am
Uploaded Act 1 here: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/princessofelis_stagedirections_1_128kb.mp3 @ 5:56.
I think I'll need some hand-holding, as this is my first stage directions. I am unsure about how much of the titles to read. For example, do I read the characters in each scene? Do I pretend the Interludes are part of the Act and not separate them? Your and Todd's criticism welcome.
(I've not set the gain on this, as I'm fully expecting to have to rework sections of it.)

Adrian
The interludes will be put in the same files as there subsequent acts (so no separate intro/outro) - and you should just say Act xxx in your intros. But you should read the titles "Interlude" and "Act xxx" during the stage directions so that a listener can see the flow from interlude to act: some of the interludes have continuing characters not in the acts (such as our fair Phillis). I think of the interludes as action taking place in front of the curtain while the stage is being reset.
Oh, And I'll actually be putting Interlude 6 at the end of the Act 5 act and interlude file rather than creating a whole new file for that short act 6 snippet. I'll change the MW to reflect that. (Ignore the presence of the little act 6 snippet in the intro for the combined act 5/6 file.)
Thanks, Todd
