Violets And Other Tales by Alice Moore (1875 - 1935).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

https://librivox.org/violets-and-other-tales-by-alice-dunbar-nelson/

This is a collection of the author's short stories and poems where she writes about the collective experience of African American women, and African Americans in general. But she is sharpest when she pushes back against the notion that women must accept and endure a subservient role to men. ( James K. White)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/18713
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

PL:OK

but you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:
• ”Section [number] of Violets And Other Tales by Alice Moore. This LibriVox recording is in the Public Domain..."

So that this is no error because it's optionally I mention this only this time and not furthermore :-)

Jo,

I went through the rest of the book and realized that I should consolidate several of the sections because they're so short. Now I need to get rid of the extra section spaces. When you get a chance, would you delete the left-overs (sections 23-28).

Thank you.
