In chapter 24, should the line

actually belong to Doris?

In chapter 6, the speech after

NARRATOR: laughed Uncle Win.

"I couldn't get along in arithmetic if it wasn't for Betty. She's so kind and tells me over and over again. And I can't do anything for Aunt Elizabeth, because I don't know how, and it takes most of my time to study. But if I could give Betty a gown—Miss Arabella went to so many parties when she was young. If I was there I know she would consent to give Betty one gown."

probably belongs to Doris, not Winthrop or the narrator.

linny, I've been thinking about how I edit pieces together and have placed a 'bell' roughly in the center (very roughly) of the silence that divides one line from another. It stands out even more dramatically than just the silence and it catches one's eye rather well.

Let me know if this is helpful or if I should stop adding the bell.

As a now-Wisconsinite, I am somewhat embarrassed I could not find a cowbell near at hand for the sound.

Well, if it's not a real cowbell why bother?

I'm PLing now. I looked at your last chapter and you tend to leave me 4-5 seconds between lines which is visually perfect so I'm inclined to think there is no need for the extra work. I'll let you know after I PL.

0:17 missing title – Chapter 5, A morning at school

2:08 word change - But breakfast was a little after six, except on Sunday morning, when it dropped down to seven.
I hear especially

5:20 missing word - Aunt Priscilla had a strip of red flannel pinned around her forehead, holding in place a piece of brown paper, moistened with vinegar, her unfailing remedy for headache.
Since this is so strange a thing I had difficulty understanding what was being described. I think it would be easier with the missing word.

13:24 Please delete Mr. Leverett’s line. - "And weren't children ever whipped in your country?"

If you don't mind I would prefer if you stopped adding it.

I'm thinking of my editing process. I use the narrator as the 'base' and then add all the other voices to the narrator file. With the additional 'bell' effect I'll need to edit around them and delete them. It might be helpful for characters but not the narrator, or at least not for my editing process.
