Treachery in Outer Space by Carey Rockwell -ans.

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalogue page: https://librivox.org/treachery-in-outer-space-by-carey-rockwell// [/]

The sixth book in the Grosset & Dunlap "Tom Corbett - Space Cadet" series. Shipmates Tom, Astro, and Roger are assigned to oversee an interplanetary race, but their destination, Titan, faces trouble - trouble in the very atmosphere. Will the intrepid space cadets be able to unveil this terrible treachery in time? ( Rich Brown)

  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/18786
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Ha! I noticed that.
I'm sure that Annise won't mind, but I've made the change for you.
So, now you can fill in the MW and we'll blast off.

I can see myself now in the management dashboard, but it still says I'm not authorized to make changes. I think Anne/annise will need to make that change. There's plenty I can get to work on now!

Word counts look like they'll all come in around 3000/chapter.

That is correct - I need to add you to the BC list - and that is was impossible on the computer I was using. And Loon will also need to enter titles and things. I've entered the first one as an example. You do not need to enter wordcounts for a Solo -, it's never compulsory - just handy to attract passing readers in a group project :D

Now that you are a soloist, you will be your own BC (book coordinator). That means that you will enter the links to your recordings into the Magic Window (MW) (the scrolling window in the first post). Here is a document that explains how to get into the MW the first time:

And here is another document that explains how to keep the MW up to date etc:

A note:
Recording will begin after I eject the frogs from my vocal chords - maybe a day or two.

Thanks for letting us know.
Before we move to Going Solo, are you comfortable with using the MW?

Yes. I've been DPL on a couple projects so the MW Control Panel is familiar.

Progress report - editing is 90% done on chapter 1. This is my first solo; taking it slow and easy.
