This is the narrator file for Benjamin Button, 60:21, https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/drsceneandstoryvol002_benjaminbutton_fitzgerald_128kb.mp3
I wasn't sure on the name for the file. I uploaded it a second time with this name: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/drsceneandstoryvol002_benjaminbutton_narrator_fitzgerald_128kb.mp3

Thank you very much! That second name works great. I'm sure Todd will sort it out.Eduard Rochester wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2020, 11:12 pm This is the narrator file for Benjamin Button, 60:21, https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/drsceneandstoryvol002_benjaminbutton_fitzgerald_128kb.mp3

Fancy some fun character recording? Small parts needed in these dramatic novels: Clouds of Witness | Ivanhoe (DR)

Well, Sonia - the wonderful Sonia - has taken the time to annotate a copy of the script with all the character names in front of the sentences they have to speak. Now it looks a bit like the normal drama plays. So I won't need extra help to edit this after all.
Thanks, Todd

Sonia and Todd, you two are amazing. Thanks for all that you make happen here.ToddHW wrote: ↑January 23rd, 2020, 9:29 am Well, Sonia - the wonderful Sonia - has taken the time to annotate a copy of the script with all the character names in front of the sentences they have to speak. Discovered the problem - my computer had crashed (that I knew) and reset itself so it was listening to its built-in mike instead of my nice Blue Yeti (that I did not know). Missing lines recorded and Anarchist uploaded for spot PL.ToddHW wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2020, 2:55 pmHmm. My recording setup seems to have dramatically changed somehow. I can't get anywhere near an acceptable match on these new lines. I'll try again tomorrow.Kitty wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2020, 6:26 am one more:you sound like you swallowed the bacteria already in your voice credit excellent job, Todd. I especially love it when you display the crazy mass-murderer attitude (ok, that sounds sick ) no but seriously, I can see the crazed-out gleam in your eye when you say "devastate a city. Wonderful" priceless !ToddHW wrote: ↑December 31st, 2019, 2:13 pmI also read The Anarchist in Wells to help that DR along.

There is only a bit missing, again due to colouring errors:
> at about 2:11: missed lines: “More,” he shouted, “if only we get away.”
thanks

Thanks Sonia!
I had actually forgotten that I did this one until I got the notification!
Happy that you liked it!
(Looking forward to hearing Adrian's role - he has
done some excellent reads for us in Sherlock Holkmes!

James - I owe you big time! This was a far heavier narrator job than I assumed it would be. Let me know when I can return the favor in some way.

That stage laugh!!!! Perfection - love it!
The file clears Checker, but the volume is bare minimum on your DR spot and the first role line. I think they will get lost when spliced with the stronger volumes around them.
Do you mind doing it one more time so we can get those raised? Also - throw in one more 3-part stage laugh for the second group guffaw?

Please don't record the whole thing over unless you really have to. You should be able to amplify your existing file successfully and add in the additional stage laugh.LCaulkins wrote: ↑January 25th, 2020, 10:02 amPL Notes for Benjamin, Second Grad:PatrickGlenn wrote: ↑January 24th, 2020, 2:26 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/benjaminbutton_secondundergrad_128kb.mp3

That's OK, but yes the process WAS a little different from the way I usually operate. I too had no idea the recording was going to be as lengthy as it turned out (looking at the number of pages of narrative). As my project got longer and longer, I kept thinking that the BC's job of stitching all the parts together must be 10 times as tedious. I would NOT want that job.Narrator file is PL OK

Anyway, I'm glad I could help you out. You've volunteered to help me with my projects in the past, so why not. It was a chance for me to get outside of my comfort zone as well. But now, back to something completely different.

LCaulkins,
I don't know if this will be of any help, but I had a similar prob with 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes'.
Elizabby pointed out to me that my 'noise level' was unacceptable, and I couldn't even hear it!
I shall pass along her advice, even if this is old news to you - because I personally found it
extremely helpful.
What I was doing wrong was selecting the entire file when applying 'noise compression'
However, by following her excellent advice. and simply selecting a bit of silence for my basis, then
applying replaygain to the edited file - I seemed to get better results! (Still couldn't hear any difference myself,
mind! They tell me that my hearing is okay - and I say 'I beg your pardon?)
