The Arabian Nights Entertainments - Volume IV by Anonymous. Translated by Jonathan Scott (1754 - 1829)
All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-arabian-nights-entertainments-volume-04-by-anonymous/

    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1 month of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5667
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard linny will DPL

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Dear MC,
I messed up the name of the translator in the database. It didn't auto populate and I misspelled Jonathan.

Section Breakdown
Note: If you are claiming all sections for a story feel free to split the sections differently. Be sure to post your preferred start/stop for your DPL.

6 The Story of Prince Ahmed, and the Fairy Perie Banou, part 3 – 4620 words - Read from: As he approached these rocks, he perceived an arrow, which he took up, looked earnestly at it, and was in the greatest astonishment to find it was the same he had shot. Read through: Pay him one to-morrow, and after that, go and visit once a month, without speaking to me, or waiting for my permission. I readily consent to such an arrangement."

I'd like to claim "1" the story of the enchanted horse. I listened to some finished recording from here; and read the guidelines, but this is my first time recording.

Hello Helena,
Welcome to LV! Before you record here please complete the preliminary test. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording#Preliminary_Test This will ensure all of your settings are correct prior to recording a larger section. Unless you have recording experience we suggest you begin with something in short works until you are comfortable with the editing process. 3800 words is going to run around 30 minutes of finished audio. Editing time can take you 4 times that much of time.

To get you set up I will need to know what name you want to have in the catalog. Let me know and I'll get you all signed up.
