COMPLETE - [YA] Jr Classics v9-Stories of To-day - jo
Thank you for the additional claims. Don't worry about the male/female voice. Dad's and Uncles read to little girls all the time.

When you do voices they are significantly louder than your normal reading voice. That’s fairly standard for all of us. Unfortunately, when I turn up the volume enough to comfortably hear your narration the characters hurt my ears.
Here is a video on how to use the compressor effect. I think that should take care of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fKYYj6HMZU

Welcome to LibriVox!wrussell2691 wrote: ↑January 17th, 2020, 8:25 am Hello - I would like to do Section 29, The Foreman, if possible. thanks!
Have you recorded before? This is a really long section for an initial recording. We generally recommend that you begin in short works.
Before you record for any recording please conduct your preliminary test. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording#Preliminary_Test
This will ensure your setting are correct for LibriVox. It's much easier to fix things with such a short test than to risk having a longer section needing to be recorded again. We really do want you to enjoy your time here and not to become frustrated.
Also, as KevinS indicated in your other claim we will need to know what name you would like listed in the catalog. You only need to tell us once. After that you will be all set up.

I am very sorry that my audio hurt your ears.
I have used the compressor in past recordings though it became an unneccesary item as I used it with every recording.
Perhaps I should use it here for certain, & I will. Thank you for the video though, I will watch it.

April,
Please don't be upset. It's ok. As I said it's common when we do voices. I stand when I record. I find by transferring my weight onto my heals when I read a character that puts me just far enough away from the microphone that I don't have as much to do in post production. Unless you use a headset maybe you could try something like that. Just get slightly further away from the mic when you record the voices.
