Section 7 has been recorded! https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/toadstools_07_cmarvin78_128kb.mp3 .
Recording Length: 6:22.88

Please let me know if there are any issues, as again, this is my first one. :D (It did pass Checker, though!)
Thanks,
CMarvin

Thanks, Carla!

Just two issues on initial check.

First, the file name is incorrect,
Your will always find the format for each project under bullet point 8 of the first where it says:

Save files as
128 kbps MP3
toadstools_##_smith_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g. toadstools_01_smith_128kb.mp3)

So, instead of your forum name, put in the author;s name which is smith in this case.

Second, under point 7 you will find this instruction in bold:

There should be ~5 seconds silence at the end of the recording.

This one has only about 3 seconds.

So, please add the additional time at the end and upload it again with the corrected file name, and we'll give it a full proof listen.

Thanks so much for participating in this project!

~Larry
Larry,

I have changed the filename and added silence to the recording. I hope I did it correctly this time. Please let me know after you listen to it if there are any other changes needed. Thank you.

Hi Carla,

The recording was great except a few things in the intro. It would be easy to just rerecord the intro and snip it in the recording. Here are my notes:

00:01 First sentence should not include ‘by Worthington George Smith’ - From instructions: "Section [number] of Toadstools and Mushrooms (Third Edition). This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
00:27 Last sentence of intro should include the words (Third Addition) - From instructions: "Toadstools and Mushrooms (Third Edition), by Worthington George Smith.
00:31 Last sentence, the last part [Section Name as given in the Magic Window]"
should not include the section number, only the section name, so in this case it should read: Scaly Mushroom to Curled Helvella - From instructions: [Section Name as given in the Magic Window]"

I hope this makes sense.

Thank you!

Hello! Here are my sections:

https://librivox.org/uploads/leni/toadstools_04_smith_128kb.mp3

Unfortunately, the delicious kinds of mushrooms he describes cannot be found, as he suggests, all over the world. Not common at all here in the tropical areas... :(

I actually made a brand new file a couple of days ago, because I discovered how to make it sound less "echo-y" (is that even a word? lol). Anyway, since this was already in progress, I didn't want to confuse anyone by asking to upload it. I figured I would wait and see if there were any other issues first. But this new one, I think, sounds much better! I did correct all the things asked for here, as well. I hope you like this one as much as I do, as I feel it is a great improvement!

Larry, I assume I should wait for you to update the link and set the status in the MW?

Otherwise, I am caught up with PL :D

ATTENTION ALL READERS

Well, it seems that I have made a major error in setting up this project -- transposing the words of the title!
(Thanks to our newest reader, Carla, for catching what we all missed). :D

So, I'm asking everyone for a huge favor -- to record a new intro for the section(s) you read.
If you still have your original submission, just edit it with the new intro and upload it again.
Alternatively, you could submit it as a separate file, and I can edit it if necessary.

I've modified the instructions to the following:

START of recording (Intro)
"Section [number] of Mushrooms and Toadstools (Third Edition). This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Say:
"Mushrooms and Toadstools (Third Edition), by Worthington George Smith. [Section Name as given in the Magic Window]"

No other changes need to be made, except for the book outro in the last section, of course.

(I'll send PMs to everyone in case you're not following this thread.

All is well for this section!

I'm so glad you caught this, Carla!
We'll get all the corrections done. We have great readers for this little book!

I'll check all of these as they come in so we don't burden our DPL.
I'll update the MW to show PL NOTES for evrthing, and change over to PL OK as we get corrections, just too keep things straight -- I hope.

I've re-uploaded section 13. I'm sorry about that; I'd forgotten that that was the last section.
