There were a couple of occasions when a plane or truck or something is heard in the background. It's not so annoying as to be a problem for this reading, but I hope you'll listen for it in the future. I'm forever getting interrupted by something when I record and I have reconciled myself with the pauses and editing needed to make things better.
But your reading is so very good that dogs could be barking in the background and I wouldn't mind!

That's great! I will reserve 14 for you pending your completion of the one-minute test. The test allows you to check your computer's settings with LivriVox's needs. (For instance, we only accept recordings done in mono and not stereo.) Here are the instructions for the test: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=1-Minute_Test
Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need any assistance.

Thank you so much for taking the time to prooflisten, for your feedback about the background noise, and for your very kind words! This was a lot of fun to read, and it gave me an excuse to go full hammy villain mode for ZavalishineKevinS wrote: ↑January 7th, 2020, 8:14 pmWhat a tremendously good reading of something of a difficult story. Your volume is a bit high, but not by much. If you would bring it down by about 4dB that would be a good thing. Your volume is 1dB above the target range for LibriVox.
Also, you'll need to record (or export) at 128 kbps bit rate. (I have no idea what that means, but if you fiddle with your settings...)
I hear a little high pitched something behind your recording. Would you mind re-doing the test for me? The 'squeak' might be associated with your high volume.

This seems like a good project to get re-started with Librivox after a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG absence. I volunteer for the two open sections, 8 and 9.

At the last moment, I decided not to read this section in my "talk like a pirate" voice.

Welcome back! Me, I'm kinda new here.
Shall I have you decide where to make the break for the two sections?
My LibriVox: https://librivox.org/sections/readers/13278
Since I'll know how the timing goes, it would probably be convenient for me to break the sections.
Now to refresh my processes and set up a "studio."
