Hi Amy,

I would like to tackle section 8, "Black Venn", please. I think that's the only section left based on the above posts.

KTBMedia wrote: December 26th, 2019, 1:45 pm I'd like to claim sections 9, 10, and 11. I have one question, however - in the first line of section 9, one of the sentences is broken up by a "[Greek: anankê]". How do I deal with this when recording the reading? I'm not entirely sure what it even means or how it connects to the rest of the line.
Hi,
I look at the scan of the book. It is just supposed to say ananke, but it is in there in the Greek letters. A search yielded: "ANANKE was the primordial goddess (protogenos) of necessity, compulsion and inevitability."
Here is the scan:
https://archive.org/details/atawintersfire01capegoog/page/n184
So just read it as "...resignation to his personal Anankê which of all moods is to Fortune, the goddess of spontaneity, the most antipathetic."
I will update the MW for your claims.
Thanks!
-Amy

Yay! and you're welcome.

Question for you: I'd like to take on Jack and Jill, but I dunno what the convention is for reading left out words.

For example, in the opening: "My friend, Monsieur ——, absolutely declines to append his name to these pages."

Any suggestion on how to read the left out name that repeats through the text?
I put you in for Jack and Jill now. I knew I was forgetting something. It happens so infrequently.
Thanks!

I added a link to the scanned book in the top post now. Please read from the PG one, but it is there for reference.
