Lovely - but just one thing missing: you omitted the number 19 from '"End of Section [Number]"

116 and 117 are PL OK now, thank you, but I see and hear no change in 118. There's less than .5 sec space still before 'Application' which is too little.
I'm sorry to hear you need to re-record.
I have a habit of saving my recording (unchanged) as a .wav first, and holding on to that. I make changes (eg, edits, amplify, etc) and then export that as .mp3. That way, if I screw up something too badly, I can go back to the .wav file if need be.
Thanks, I usually do that but am quite rusty with recording!

Sorry, not sure what happened with 118, here it is again:

and I think 119 got missed but I'll repost it with space before application:

118 PL OK now.

Hello everyone,
I would be very appreciative if anyone had a spare minute to read this or another spare minute for a short response. I am taking a module at university at the moment called ‘Literature in the community’ and I am currently writing a report on my experience taking part in this literary community, LibriVox. More specifically, on taking part in this Aesop’s fables forum. It would be lovely to hear of other people’s experiences on LibriVox (successes, challenges, surprises) and about the role this literary community has played in your life, or any particular texts that have had an impact. Any thoughts at all would be relevant and appreciated!
Apologies also if this isn’t the place to post this!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a lovely and peaceful Christmas.
Holly

tels wrote: November 7th, 2019, 6:54 am Hi,

I've redone these sections with the feedback -
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_003_aesop_128kb.mp3 02:13
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_004_aesop_128kb.mp3 02:48

And done this one which was assigned to me -

Thanks for looking at it,

Thank you. For #3 and 4, I have covered in a previous email.
43 is beautifully read - you have a lovely voice. It is almost perfect... BUT you are still not putting the required full 5 secs of silence at the end. Could you please do that and reupload?
All that info on p1 under the MW covers off all the standards and the requirements, including this:
There should be ~5 seconds silence at the end of the recording.
Hi,

Thanks for your complement! I've uploaded the new section 43 with an extended 5 min silence at the end.
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_043_aesop_128kb.mp3 2:29

However, I don't see the other email you speak of. I see 4 still needs to be done, but I don't know what needs to change.
Actually, what does "see PL notes" mean, and what is a PL? Where should I look? Probably written somewhere clearly, but I'm currently clueless. I know PM means private message, but PL baffles me... Private letter?

Thanks for your help,
tels

Oops, I wrote email where I should have written post. Sorry!
‘See PL notes’ is a bit opaque, isn’t it? It is just means ‘see the post which says what needs to happen’.
PL stands for Peer Listen /er (ie, someone else listening to your recording)
Now, I can’t remember at this point either. So what I do is search using the Search topic box . I put in just your forum name and search on that. The relevant posts appear in reverse order. I have to scan down through them, but when I find the relevant post, it tells me I said:
Section 4:
Very nice reading.
* The volume on this is way too low - only 83 dB as measured by Checker. Our target is 89 dB with a range of 86-92 dB. If you need help adjusting this, let me know, but since section 3 was correct, may be just an oversight.
* You have omitted to say “Fables of Aesop and Others, by Aesop” just before the fable name
* Could you correct the pause and stumble around 2.35, which is jarring to a listener?
(Optional, but I've added it as there are some corrections to be made): you may wish to double check your pronunciation of "ignominious".

Always ask when you don’t know. All happy to help.

The volume doesn't meet our requirements, Holly. It's just too quiet @ 85.6 dB, which Checker tells you immediately.
Also, you have some very distracting background noises (sound like something being moved or could be heavy breathing on the mike?), at 0.27s, 0.31s, 1.35
Please could you fix both issues ?
