Great!
[COMPLETE] The complete poetical works, by Edgar Allan Poe - tg
OK. Good to know!silverquill wrote: ↑December 14th, 2019, 8:34 pm I'm starting to assemble the scenes for Politian.
I know these parts of already been proofed but there are several errors in the part of Di Broglio
Throughout, I am hearing Pol-i-ti-tion. The extra syllable makes into a different word other than the man's name.
And, in the next to last line, ~1:06 I hear ab-truse instead of ab-struse.
Since it has been awhile, I'll PM Nemo

So, with that, here is Politician Scene 1
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/completepoeticalworks_35_poe_128kb.mp3 5:29
And, to dispel any doubt, this project is NOT all mine.
I'm just a volunteer reader and a editor for these scenes, just trying to do the best I can to help out.

Larry,
1-In order for "Politician" to be misinterpreted, it would have had to be proceeded by "The", "A/an" articles (they are a type of determiner) and it never was. It is not your job to create "errors" because words are not pronounced to your liking. It was clearly understood as a name...Tomato, tomoto..is still a red fruit, puree or diced doesn't change it.
2-to edit scenes is it your job to correct pronunciation? In the English language the word
"abtruse" does not exist, so how can it change the meaning of a sentence? This project is not "word perfect" so if I could understand the meaning in a sentence (the way it was pronounced) it did not warrant change.
What does warrant a change is your disrespect for your fellow volunteers.
Your over-kill attitude should have been pointed out to you by bdanzige or Triciag, sadly they chose not to.

That's enough.
I spoke with Larry via PM and gave him my opinion about the situation. I did not have to make that known publicly, but I am posting about it here, for the record.
I will delete any more posts about the pronunciation and over-PL'ing, as it's approaching the realm of "not nice".
Let's finish off this project in a friendly way, please. We're almost done. "Peace on earth, good-will to men," please.

I was offline for two days and I am very sorry to see what went on. I really hope to finish this project in good spirit. I'm glad I had everyone's help along the way. Let's try to finish it together.

Sorry it took a while. The recording for section two should follow in the next few days.
Notes to the PL:
At some point, the script reads "lie wrote frequently to Miss Royster,". My guess is that "lie" should be "He", and that's what I read.
The script mentions a Mr. Boiling, who is sometimes spelled Bolling. I assume it should indeed be Boiling, since OCR probably mistakes an i for an l more easily than the other way around. If this is wrong, I shall re-record the affected sections.
