Hi, I'd like to help with this project, and I'm prepared to take on a large number of chapters.
I found Librivox when I was part way into a private project to record this entire book for my blind stepfather. Last time I looked there was no recording available on Librivox, so I set out to make one myself. I have already recorded the first three chapters, but not with the Librivox requirements in mind. I'm guessing they may be suitable anyhow, so I'd like to commit to those chapters right away, and we can see how good they are. If they don't work, I'm happy to redo them, but I'd rather work on later chapters for Librivox first, so that I can keep sending what I've done to my stepfather. He is 96 and recently lost my mother, so I'm trying to make his Christmas happy.
So, I suggest assigning the first 3 chapters to me. I'll use the Librivox guidelines to add the necessary top and tail and send one in. You can see what you think. If that's good, I'll do the same for 2 and 3. From here on, I'll be working forward in order, so you could put my name by a few more. I realize it's a long book, and that it's probably easier to follow if there aren't too many voice switches along the way.

Hello Zoe, and welcome to librivox! First off, I'd like to give you my condolences for your loss, that's no fun especially around Christmas time.zoebrookes wrote: ↑December 10th, 2019, 11:41 am Hi, I'd like to help with this project, and I'm prepared to take on a large number of chapters.
Anyway, before you begin recording, we do ask that you complete your one minute test. This is not an audition, it's just a quick sample so that we can make sure your recording software is in check. Better to do this than have a 20 minute recording have to go to waste. Here's a link to for more information https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test
Also, how would you like to be credited? I can set you up a reader page that will list all of your recordings.
I'll assign sections 1-3 to you, but before you send those in, you'll need to complete the one minute test. Thank you so much for joining!
Elijah.
Thank you!
