I never really thought of Wodehouse as a poet. To much PBS.

Thank you, Craig! Since we can't be sure, I've just added the name in our database with no other information. Googling the name led me to a letter Mark Twain (as Samuel Clemens) wrote to a Swithin Saint Swithaine, so who knows, maybe he's a contemporary of Twain's.

Here's a start. I hope to have a couple more later this month.

Initiation, by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926)

I wish I read German well enough to enjoy Rilke's poetry in the original language.
Thank you, Fritz! Maybe it could be your New Year's resolution; to enjoy Rilke's poetry to the fullest!

Hello, Paul Brian Stewart! Or is it just Paul?
Welcome to Librivox and to the Poetry Collection! Thank you for your contribution! Lovely reading! And the recording is PL OK!

My only comment concerns text sources. To make sure each poem is in the public domain (and not a later edited version, that might be copyrighted), sources that state publication information are preferred. Gutenberg.org (reliable legal team), archive.org and hathitrust.org (scans that show publication information), are examples of good text sources.

For your poem, we'll use this gutenberg ebook: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/12145

By the way, you now have your own Reader Page in the catalogue: https://librivox.org/reader/13760
It lists all projects you've read for, so it might look empty now, but hopefully you're enjoying yourself and it'll gradually fill up!

Hi:

A particularly sinister poem --

Jabberwocky
By Lewis Carroll.
Read by Dale Grothmann
Time 2:00

Text at
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/23972

Audio file at
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc199__jabberwocky_dg_128kb.mp3

I know. Some people consider this a "kid" poem.

Thanks

Hi Rapunzelina, here are mine. I searched to no avail for info on Frank R. Heine, however his poetry exhibits a certain jocular sagacity we would be remiss to overlook.

my second poem is a translation from the Gaelic :9: wish I could speak the lingo well enough to read it in the original:

"My harp to me bring" by John Campbell (1823-1897)
(new author, here is a page I found about him: https://digital.nls.uk/early-gaelic-book-collections/archive/76501216?mode=transcription)
translated by John Stuart Blackie (1809-1895)
(we don't insert the translator, do we ? if yes, he is also new, here is his wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Stuart_Blackie) and I gave him credit in the disclaimer at least
