I have a play as well. But then- does it count if the ghost is a hoax? (Not really a spoiler, btw; the audience knows before the first act is up, and even the prologue implies it.)

Thanks for your suggestions Todd, but Mr. Grimm was featured in September... Somebody's not paying attention.
Vampires do count, thank you. The Drummer I'm not sure about, it's more fun than horror, right? And I'd prefer this month to be dark. Very dark. Fitting the outside...

There is a small downside to retiring (as I did last year): no more 2 hour daily commutes to fill with listening to our stories. So I often don't look at the new releases or monthly picks because I don't know when I'd listen to them.
Yeah, I know, not a serious problem.
Thanks, Todd

Oh, yes, I see. The Drummer is pretty light, yes. Probably not what you're looking for.Availle wrote: ↑October 2nd, 2019, 4:03 am Thanks for your suggestions Todd, but Mr. Grimm was featured in September... Somebody's not paying attention.

Ooh, good one! I have a few.
Dave Brings Home a Wife This is a DR of several chapters from a longer book, set in Australia.
Either The Wasters or Mrs. Pretty and the Premier, two Autralian plays by Arthur Adams. The Wasters is more serious and not as light-hearted as the other, but both are excellent, and recorded by a wonderful cast, if I do say so.
The Luggage of Life, by Frank W. Boreham. Although he was born in England, Boreham spent most of his life ministering in Australia and New Zealand. In his introduction to this book, he states, "These leaves are of Australian growth."

Oh, so many plays set in Australia, I had no idea!
Well, personally, I'm all up for a bit of fun, and a kissy stenographer

I would suggest the poetry of Henry Lawson, A.B. ‘Banjo’ Paterson and C. J. Dennis.
It’s just a pity that Victor Daley’s “Wine and Roses” is not currently Librivoxed.
Did you know that if you play an Austrian accent through a loudspeaker with an aluminium (Al) diaphragm, it automatically turns into an Australian accent?
Ava, how do you feel about being the next Prime Minister of Australia?
Cheers,
Chris
