COMPLETE Irish Fairy Tales By James Stephens - dc
Thank you so much Lizzie! You have been a busy little bee, and have done a great job.
There is just one small thing on each of the below listed. The volume in Librivox recordings should be between 86-92dB with 90dB possible, and these are all just slightly low. I have listed the values from Checker next to each.
Section 72 - MONGAN’S FRENZY Chapter 2 (85.3dB)
Section 74 - MONGAN’S FRENZY Chapter 4 (85.8dB)
Section 79 - MONGAN’S FRENZY Chapter 9 (92.9dB)

Thanks I'll work on adjusting the volume on those- though the third one you listed is at 92 something. Is that one to loud or too soft? I'm still trying to figure out how to do the volume checker myself. I usually catch on more quickly to techy stuff but for some reason that one gets me muddled.
For now, here is one more section. Might be a little loud. Not sure.

Thanks for the new section. I will check it soon.
As for the volume, I apologize for assumptions. The tech specs of Librivox are that the volume must be between 86 and 92 dB, so the reading that is just over 92 dB is just a little high. We generally aim to be around 89dB.
Regarding checking this, I use the Librivox Checker tool, found here;
https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker
This tool is super easy to use. Just open the checker tool and drag the audio file into it. The tool will analyze and it will flag many technical items for you, including telling you the volume level and bit rate. Installs quick and is free. There are other ones, like mp3gain program. Also free.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

PL NOTES:
SECTION 81
Just one little thing. The volume is a bit high at about 92.5dB and should between 86-92dB. Just needs to come down a little bit.
Thank you!

Here are my last 3 recordings. I had a bit of a hard time getting 58 into the correct volume range (it's at the min 86 now). Let me know if you'd like me to keep working on it. Thanks!

Clipping often prevents amplification. You will need to use Effect/Compressor in Audacity to remove the peaks in the audio waveform before you can amplify the file. Watch the video below.

Hey there. I am glad you were able to get the recordings within spec. It seems the Checker tool will still flag at 86dB, but I think it is fine. Please see the advice from craigdav1 posted just above this one for some help in the future. Thanks for the updates. I will OK these.Katzsteinz wrote: ↑November 19th, 2019, 2:22 pm Here are my last 3 recordings. I had a bit of a hard time getting 58 into the correct volume range (it's at the min 86 now). Thanks for the update Lizzie! No worries. Get better we'll hold out a while longer.LizzieHexam wrote: ↑January 7th, 2020, 8:35 pm hey- sorry it's been a while! Got sick and then holidays and got sick again. But my voice is almost back to normal and I'll be submitting more of my sections soon.
