Solo - Dracula by Bram Stoker (1847 - 1912) - dc.

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/dracula-version-5-by-bram-stoker/
Dracula as written by Bram Stoker in 1897 was not the first depiction of vampires and other such creatures, Gothic horror stories had been around since the early part of the century. The story related by Bram Stoker is told in an epistolary fashion utilising the journals and diaries of the main protagonists. The storyline is relatively simple; Dracula the longest living and most evil of vampires comes to England with a view to increasing the vampire population of the country. He is thwarted by five friends and driven back to his castle in Transylvania.

It is not the book itself, which by the way is a good horror story, it is the portrayal of Dracula that gripped the imagination of the populous and in particular the entertainment industry. As such “Count Dracula” has become an iconic figure for over 100 years. Numerous world wide interpretations and portrayals both on stage, Cinema, and television have made Dracula synonymous with the undead and all that is evil. - Summary by Peter Keeble

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

MW coming up.

edit: I noticed that the chapter 7 title has a " symbol in it. We replace the double quotation mark (") with two single quotation marks (''). As you can see they look very similar. At Archive.org the " symbol is not permitted in the title field. It can be used in the book description.

03 and 04 for spot check.

Apologies for the file mix up.I am a bit at sixes and sevens at the moment............ I am in the process of moving my recording location to another area ( going to try standing up and have mike floating )

If 03 is still problematic I will re - record when I finish chapter 5.

They tell me that you'll lose your mind as you grow older. What they don't tell you is that you won't miss it very much.
