Hearts of Three by Jack London (1876 - 1916).

Come along with Francis Morgan – heir of a powerful Wall Street stockbroker and descendant of a 17th-century pirate turned governor of Jamaica – on many swashbuckling adventures along the coast of Central America and in the interior of Panama. Hot blooded women (rated G), treacherous authorities, drunken jailers, ancient Maya secrets, quicksand, secret passages, harrowing justice systems, remote people, a lost society with a queen that holds mystical powers, and an enterprising seller of secrets . . . pepper every chapter with humor, intrigue, or suspense - and sometimes all three! Who will Leoncia end up with? Will Francis’s fortune survive his absence from New York? Is everyone what he or she seems to be? (Scott and Lynette Caulkins)

Yay, super. :) I wondered if you'd want this one!

P.S. Kevin, I'm anticipating a pace of a chapter every 5-7 days.

I don't know, but he only lived another 6 to 8 months. :( Kidney disease, only 40

I didn't notice the year for this work. I'm going to have to look at his biography again. I always conflate London's life with the lives of his characters. There'a a bit of validity to that, I suppose.

I'm ready for some excitement!

(I think I like the longer pauses you've placed in the recording for when people are listening to the phone.)
