I know usually I would wait for my claiming of a Section to be confirmed, but to my knowledge nobody has asked to claim Section 62 and I have completed the recording, which is available here: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_062_aesop_128kb.mp3
Time: 02:49
I hope this finds your approval.
Many thanks,
Chad

With ample warning, a number of claims have expired with no response from the claimants.

These are now up for grabs.
I'd appreciated a two-week turn around on these so we can move closer to finishing the project.
These are short pieces to read, so shouldn't need two-months.
I'm back!
Thanks very much for the extensions...
I will complete mine & upload within a few days.

Hello:
Here is my resubmission of part 51 of Fables of Aesop and others. THis one is 3 minutes and 11 seconds long. I had forgotten to put in the "end of section" part and I lengthened the space at the end. As I couldn't find the earlier comments for correction, I hope this one works.

Thank you silver quill!
Good to know.
I've done the sections -
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_004_aesop_128kb.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaOptionaesop_003_aesop_128kb.mp3

I look forward to what's next!
Thank you very much, Tara. Happy to welcome another new reader aboard!
PL feedback: Good reading overall, just a couple of things.

Section 3:
* You have omitted to say “Fables of Aesop and Others, by Aesop” just before the fable name
* The final silence is well over 5 secs - could you trim it back please?

Section 4:
Very nice reading.
* The volume on this is way too low - only 83 dB as measured by Checker. Our target is 89 dB with a range of 86-92 dB. If you need help adjusting this, let me know, but since section 3 was correct, may be just an oversight.
* You have omitted to say “Fables of Aesop and Others, by Aesop” just before the fable name
* Could you correct the pause and stumble around 2.35, which is jarring to a listener?

(Optional, but I've added it as there are some corrections to be made): you may wish to double check your pronunciation of "ignominious".

Please upload each corrected file under the same name, then post the link and new file length here in the forum so we can check it.

PS, There is no need to add the MetaData unless you wish, since this is now done automagically.
Thanks for reading and joining the project!

Thanks Tara. I'm responding to this email with the original PL notes, to avoid confusing myself or you.

S3: the intro is now fine. You trimmed the final silence a bit too much, cutting it down to 2 secs. The Librivox standard is 5. Now, as this has dragged on a while, I decided it would be quicker to fix it and upload, and mark off as now PL OK. It is now 2.17 in length. hope you will agree with this action of mine? Do let me know if not.

S4: Not PL Ok yet. You say in your very recent email that you'e revised, but on download, I hear no difference at all, ie, none of the required changes to this file. I have again highlighted the 3 items that need fixing in my original PL email above. Please let us know if you need help?

I've redone these sections with the feedback -

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_004_aesop_128kb.mp3 02:48

And done this one which was assigned to me -
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_043_aesop_128kb.mp3 2:24

Thanks for looking at it,

tels
Thank you. For #3 and 4, I have covered in a previous email.
43 is beautifully read - you have a lovely voice. It is almost perfect... BUT you are still not putting the required full 5 secs of silence at the end. Could you please do that and reupload?
All that info on p1 under the MW covers off all the standards and the requirements, including this:
There should be ~5 seconds silence at the end of the recording.

Thank you very much for these. Very nice readings and you have a lovely reading voice, clear and pleasant to listen to.
You got all the necessary things correct also (right length intro/outro, etc etc) for which as PL I thank you muchly. Saves me a lot of effort.

But... you still have somewhat of an issue with the volume of your recording. I can't accept 36 as is, because it failed the volume in Checker, Now, I saw volume was commented on in your initial 1-minute test. 3 of your files are OK (but only just) but 36 is just below the absolute base minimum required threshold of 86 dB and actually, the volume of all your files is hovering around that bottom of the range.
But there's a very easy fix - something I do routinely. You need to amplify 36 by around 3-4 dB in Audacity, which would bring it up to 89-90 dB. (Keep an eye on the noise and see if you have to Noise Reduction after though, as Amplify increases that also). Let me know if you need help doing that. happy to help.

I've marked 37-39 as PL OK, but 36 needs amplifying.

Hi Rebecca, these are lovely readings. You have a very nice voice to listen to, and I look forward to hearing you read more. You really bring out the meaning.

But I cannot pass as is, because, alas, you haven't got the specs right when it comes to the beginning and end silences.
The Beginning silence is to be no more than 1 sec (max) and the end should be 5 secs (no less).
Not one of your files has met these requirements - could you review and fix and reupload please?

Almost perfect and beautifully read. You certainly lengthened the silence at end... to over 11 secs   Since that's more than necessary (5 secs), and it was the only glitch in a beautiful recording, I've taken the liberty of chopping it to 5 secs and uploading. Hope that is OK with you. If not, please let me know.
Larry, note it's now 3m 5s
