On a Grey Thread by Elsa Gidlow (1898 - 1986).

On a Grey Thread was first published in 1923, one of the first books of openly lesbian love poetry to be published in the United States. Her early verse is concise and highly original. (Newgatenovelist)

[*]Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/OnAGreyThread/page/n3
[*]Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

The lovely pnagami has consented to DPL.

I've kept the full disclaimer for the first and final sections, but for everything in between I've shortened it to the poetry intro and outro.

I'm sorry to cause trouble, but Mr David, could you please check and see if something has disappeared into the ether with the MW? It's not displaying for me.

Hi David,

No problem at all! This project has only just launched and really wasn't going anywhere in a rush. I'm sort of relieved that it was still being set up - when I looked at it, it felt like one of those really dull dreams that are just an extension of waking life. It's sort of comforting that I haven't been dreaming about setting up LV projects after all!

Pam - three little poems are there for whenever. They start on page 9, or 11/73.

Hi Pam,

The next four are ready for PL. I've put page numbers in the MW at irregular intervals so that I know where I am and you (hopefully) know roughly where you are if I slip and forget to post page numbers in the thread!
