Hi Pam,
Section 10 is spot PL OK. I know plenty was written about the Uprising, but Creighton must have had a trolley full of books when she wrote this. Fancy boiling it down to one 25-minute segment! Phew. I couldn't do it.

Hi Pam,
Section 11 is PL OK. You picked a great cliffhanger for your end of section!
This chapter got off to a great start when she rescued the dog.

Thanks, Erin!
I read to the end and now I am trying to figure out why she was an invalid for 50 years after Scutari.

Hi Pam,
Section 12 is PL OK. Poor thing. Those adoring crowds would have been too much for anybody.

Hi Pam,
Section 14 is PL OK. I was selfishly hoping for a bit more on her travels to Ladakh, but this was still really good. I'm left wondering what happened to her very cuddly Arabian horse though!
I have to ask: any logical explanation for her illness 'at home' but rugged indifference to discomfort when travelling?

Thanks, Erin!
I also worried about the horse.
Her illness?—psychosomatic?

Hi Pam,
It's hard not to worry about him. He was a nice horse!
I didn't want to suggest that, but I couldn't think what on earth it could be. She went to some places where the climate was colder than it was in Scotland, so I thought it might not be that, but I really wasn't sure what poleaxed her at home when she was invincible elsewhere.
Elsa Gidlow and Helen Hunt Jackson have been launched. Hooray!
