The Dream Doctor by Arthur B. Reeve (1880 - 1936). Translated by Brian Powell ( - 0)

( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5054
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

    Magic Window:

    BC Admin ===========================================
  • The reader will record the following at the beginning and end of each file:
No more than 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording!

"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • Say:
"The Dream Doctor, by Arthur B. Reeve. Translated by Brian Powell ( - 0) [Chapter]"

For the second and all subsequent sections, you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:
    • "Chapter [number] of The Dream Doctor by Arthur B. Reeve. Translated by Brian Powell ( - 0) This LibriVox recording is in the Public Domain."
    • If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • Only if applicable, say:
      "[Chapter title]"
    END of recording:
    • At the end of the section, say:
      "End of [Chapter]"
    • If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
    • At the end of the book, say (in addition):
"End of The Dream Doctor, by Arthur B. Reeve. Translated by Brian Powell ( - 0)"

There should be ~5 seconds silence at the end of the recording.
  • Example filename dreamdoctor_##_reeve_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g. dreamdoctor_01_reeve_128kb.mp3)

Hi,
I'll MC this for you. Sarah is added as DPL. I will move you to Going Solo later today.
I read this book a while ago. It has an intriguing title. The magic window is up. I will PM you instructions on accessing and using it.
Cheers,
Amy

Hey Amy,
Sorry for not being active here. It's so nice to meet you and I'm happy to work with you. Have you read his other books? This going to be the first book that I read by Reeve.

About Brian, his on a two-week business trip. I think he will be back safely on Thursday, October 24.

Hi Sarah,
It is nice to work with you, too. I haven't read any of his others. Thanks for letting me know about Brian's trip. I am glad that he is not having a problem with anything.
Cheers!
Amy

Hey Amy,

I have "The Silent Bullet" on my TBR list. Do you like reading books in order? Maybe I can find time to read it before Brian starts with this (which is book 3 according to Goodreads) :hmm:.

Hi Sarah,
I do like to. Even if the stories aren't related you can see how the author improves or changes.
Have a good day!
Amy

Hello again,
Same here but sometimes I don't read in order. I'm recording the 11th book of Fleming Stone by Carolyn Wells. And it's the first book that I've read by her. And there is a high chance that I'll read this book first before 1 & 2. Because I'm reading about 2 mystery Series in order this year (I've to wait for my turn to get the book, I borrow them from Openlibrary.org).
Have an AWESOME day!
