The Bear Family at Home by Curtis Wilbur (1867 -1954).

This book can now be found in our catalog at https://librivox.org/the-bear-family-at-home-by-curtis-d-wilbur/

THE BEAR FAMILY AT HOME -And How the Circus Came to Visit Them
Once a little cub bear was caught in a big log trap, and taken on a train to a circus. He lived in the circus a long, long while, and every day a great many people came to see the bear, and the lions, and the tigers, and the leopards, and the elephants, and the camels, and the other animals.
Every night the animals would all be put in the wagons made for them, then the wagons would be rolled on the flat-cars of a railroad train. The train would go all night to another town, where a great many people would come to see the animals and the men and women in the circus. The Cub Bear saw a great many wonderful and strange things while he was in the circus and while traveling on the trains. Once he crossed the ocean in a great ship, and came back again in another ship. The first story tells How the Little Bear got free from the circus and back in the woods again. : ( the author)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/60209
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

This looks like a fun book! If there are still chapters after I’ve moved I’ll sign myself up.

Moving = major pain. Also, I’ll lose my extremely quiet attic. (But I’ll gain a splendid view!)

Just to clarify, with chapter one, in the little chapter introduction, do you want me to read 'Chapter 1, the bear family at home and how the circus came to visit them' Or do you want me to read chapter 1, how the little cub bear got back into the woods again'?
I only ask as in the magic window it says the section title is the latter, but then in the notes it says to start with the former...
Hope this makes sense :')

An excellent question, it is indeed confusing. The section is now titled "The Bear Family at Home and HOW THE LITTLE CUB BEAR GOT BACK INTO THE WOODS AGAIN" so that is how you should say, "Chapter 1, The Bear Family at Home and HOW THE LITTLE CUB BEAR GOT BACK INTO THE WOODS AGAIN" then when recording, just read it as it is written going from The Bear Family, directly into the first story. I don't know why he wrote it this way but that's how it will make sense. AT least I hope so! In the notes I just wanted to explain that it would look strange but to read 'both' of 'em.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or this is not clear at all. :D
