Hi Lauren,
Section 7 and 8 are PL OK. The names for the fish groups are something else! Great job!
Thank you for these!

Fun listening tonight, so you can mark your Section 04 as PL OK!

Now, to work some more on that glossary.

Well, I bit the bullet, kept my nose to the grindstone, put my shoulder to the wheel, and my ear to the ground and plowed through the rest of the glossary part one:

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/herp_11_ruschenberger_128kb. 38:35

Several apologies - first for the belatedness (I'm not sure that's even a word)
Second, for the poor quality.

I recorded the first part of this months ago. I think I just had a bad recording day and stumbled all over the place, and got kind of discouraged. Recently, I made some changes to my recording set up, simple changes that I think improve the quality of the audio, but it makes a noticeable difference between the two segments. The first one is also really choppy. If you think it is bad enough, I can record that part over and get a better match. In editing this, I realized what a good selection it would have been for the insomnia collection. I kept nodding off.

I see I'm still in for the second section, so I will get it on my schedule. The second part seemed to go more smoothly. In fact I was a ways into the I's before I realized I had over shot. I guess I was just excited about getting to say Ichthyology!

Thanks for your patience and putting up with me.

Larry

Hi Larry. The thanks goes to you. I haven't done a glossary yet. I'm sure it is difficult, especially with the terminology in this one.
I did reopen the second part of the glossary a while back. Lauren Huff has claimed it.
I hope you haven't worked on it yet.
I will PL Section 11 soon while having coffee. Just kidding; I'm sure it won't put me to sleep.
Thanks again!

Oh, Okay. I guess my eyes weren't in focus. so that's good.
I'll move this to my done list as soon as I get an OK, but am ready to make any changes you need.
Thanks!

Hi Larry,
The definition for Chondroptergii was a quite a mouthful. My hat is off to you. That electricity needed a long definition is one of the things that makes you realize how old the text is.
There are some edits needed.
-1:02 stumble " the generic"
-2:25 repeat "priva"
-6:22 I hear "a feet" instead of just feet
-6:22 missing the definition of Apodes
-8:30 stumble "which is the diminutive"
-11:41 I hear auterior. The text has anterior
-18:25 repeat "from the Greek Kephale, head"
-22:22 repeat "coeca or caeca"
-27:51 I heard improbable. The text has imponderable.
-30:22 repeat "articular facette of a bone"
Thank you for all your work on this, Larry!

Oh, my!
So sorry for the sloppy (sleepy) editing.

Well, long live imponderable electricity!
Some sort of fluid? How far we have come in our understanding. And how far we have yet to go.

I think I go them all. Although, I still read "anterior" wrong. That letter is not closed at the top or the bottom, so why I mistook it for something else, is beyond me. Obviously, anterior.

Thanks for you good PL. :)

And here it is, a real beast of an audio file, part 12:
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/herp_12_ruschenberger_128kb.mp3

34:11

Lot of tongue-twisters in that one. My other part is recorded, just need to edit!
