Just grabbed Lion Loose. Thanks for the heads up, Greg. It’s not _short_ at 22K, but won the Hugo for short story in 1962! Wonder how it didn’t get renewed.

Also... is this the first Hugo winner to enter the LV catalogue???

Well, as it turns out the Schmitz was just nominated for the Best Short Story Hugo in 1962, so maybe the mystery is solved. Goes to show that you shouldn't just accept something posted on the internet at face value. Verify!

The Smoky God and Wolfbane are in the catalog now and A Traveler from Alteria is in progress.
In the mind, or consciousness of the Earth this flower first lay latent as a dream. Perhaps, in her consciousness, it nested as that which in us corresponds to a little thought.--A.Blackwood

Roadside Picnic by Arkady Strugatsky and Boris Strugatsky would be good, although there's still a few more years for the copyright to expire.
As promised, The Radio Planet has now been posted! viewtopic.php?f=28&t=77139

Hi ChuckW,
thank you for the extensive list of earlier SciFi, I have just finished reading “The Centaurians” by Biagi. It has more than 300 pages, I don’t think I can read it all on my own, can I suggest it as a collaborative project instead?
Cheers

Oops, have just noticed that this list is not exclusively for short, one-piece SciFis, and others have already submitted collaborative projects out of it, so I will also go to submit a collaborative and post the link here when it is accepted.
Cheers
