Hi Kevin -

Section 96 shows Dreams by Meng Hao-jan and it should be "Springtide Dreams by Meng Hao-jan"

Hi Kevin -

another correction -

Section 102 should be "Chiu-Hua Kuan in Spring by Ch'en Tze-ang"

Right now it is a backwards mixture of the above words in the MW.

Lynda Marie,
Trying to get a start on you recordings, but it is quite late here, so didn't get very far.

68 and 71 are PL OK
70 has voices, possibly a TV, in the background starting at about 0:58 through through the ending silence, and through 71 as well.

I'll get to the rest as I can.
On the road again, so delays are possible

Thanks Larry -

59 and 70 they are voices from outside and I tried to noise clean as best as possible without changing the quality of the recording. I live in a downtown area and it is harder in the summer, even with my sliding door closed, to get silence during the day when I record. Do you want me to re-record them or Kevin do you want to listen and see if they are okay?

Sorry to be behind here, but the flood caught me off guard, changing this meandering stream into a rushing torrent.

Anyway, I want to work through your readings, Lynda, and I think I got them all. Most are PL OK, but I do have notes on a few, as below:

72 PL OK
73 0:35 Text: “writhe about the ancient walls”
I hear “ wreathe about the ancient walls”
(the vowel should be long, and this changes it to a different word and meaning)
74 0:35 Text: “The moon oer’peers” [meaning looks over]
I hear something like “The moon ore surpers,” which makes no sense.
75 PL OK
76 PL OK
77 PL OK
78 0:15 Text: “The sunset reddens . . . “
I hear, “The sun reddens ….”
79 PL OK
80 PL OK
81 PL OK
145 PL OK
146 PL OK
147 PL OK
148 PL OK
150 PL OK
151 0:02 Text: “The Amazon Corps” [ps is silent, so this rhymes with “core”] [as in “Marine Corps”]
I hear, “The Amazon Corpse” [poet is not talking about a dead body here]
163 PL OK

SPECIAL NOTE FOR 164 – 165
Although we take our best stab at the Chinese names (and I think you handle them well), here “I” does not mean “The First” as it does for western royalty, but is actually his name. It probably rhymes with his first name, Li which is a common surname in China and Korea.

164 0:29 Text: “Who blows yon wailing reedy flute”
I hear, “Who blows you wailing reedy flute” [I know the type is not clear here, and the “n” almost looks like a “u” but this change will
clarify the meaning.
165 see note above, otherwise PL OK
166 PL OK
168 PL OK
169 PL OK
170 PL OK
171 PL OK
172 PL OK
173 0:27 Text: “yon mountains swell”
I hear, “you mountains swell”
175 0:56 Repeat “ That …. that caress to her babe”
176 PL OK
On the road again, so delays are possible
