Strictly Business: More Stories of the Four Million by O. Henry (1862 - 1910).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/strictly-business-more-stories-of-the-four-million-by-o-henry/
O. Henry, the pen name of American writer William Sydney Porter (1862-1910), is often credited with defining the short story as a literary art form. STRICTLY BUSINESS, More Stories of the Four Million, is a collection of twenty-three short stories that was first published in 1908. The setting is New York City in the first decade of the 1900’s (the Four Million in the subtitle is a reference to the population of the city at that time as well as to the title of an earlier collection of his short stories). You will meet a wide variety of characters from all walks of life who are trying to make a living via honest (and sometimes dishonest) means. Personal interactions and business transactions abound, but sometimes there is a twist. But don’t take it personally if you get fooled, after all it is Strictly Business. ( Warren Kati)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

The MW is ready. I have shortened the file name a bit to a more manageable length. :-)

We will stay here for a bit to see if we can find a DPL!

Have fun!
