Hi Maria,

I think we already have this one in Section 1: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/33902/33902-h/33902-h.htm

Would you like to do another?
My mistake! My mistake! I saved the first spot for commonsparrow, confirming it very early on. The second recording came in I assumed it was the same person.

I feel I must honor the people to whom I first confirm a place and that is commonsparrow.

I will ask our other contributor if he would consider submitting his version to the poetry thread as an alternative. For the time being I will place both version in the MW.

No problem on the mistake. With all the postings, it’s understandable. :)

It's not the only one I've made. I feel awful.

I'm sorry! Didn't realize that someone else had beat me to it!
If I have time before the end of the month, I could instead try to do the other item I had suggested here, if that would be okay.
commonsparrow3 wrote: August 15th, 2019, 11:53 am Since I've already done my contribution, and it's one to a customer, I'll leave this suggestion here for anyone else who might want it:

"Survey of Occupations Open to the Girl of Fourteen to Sixteen Years" (published in 1912)

There are only about 8 pages of actual text. The rest of the pamphlet is merely tables, so if the tables are omitted, it would be a nice short work.
The tables are not that difficult to read, as well, if anyone wanted to try it.
EDITED TO ADD: Don't worry, Kevin, about the mix-up! The other reader was quicker than me, that's all, and anyway a male voice is probably better for these soldier-poems!

That would be very helpful, but it was my mistake and I regret causing any confusion here. This is supposed to be a party, right? I feel like Mary on the Mary Tyler Moore show. Did she ever have a successful party?

Ha! I used to watch Mary Tyler Moore all the time! And I think all of her parties were very amusing disasters!
Your 14th Anniversary collection, on the other hand, is not a disaster but a smashing success! Just look at how many people want to get in on the fun! So many of us that we are all bumping elbows!
You are the BC, Kevin, so you let me know what you decide, but I will be happy to record another selection. As I said, the "Occupations for girls age 14" sounded fascinating. And don't worry that I'll feel the effort on the poem recording was wasted. I can always change the intro and submit it later to one of the poetry collections. So there are no worries!

Thank you. This calms me quite a bit. I hate causing upset.

If you would do the Occupations recording, I will be much indebted to you.

I'm planning to record a short story called "Fourteen to One." Supposedly based on true events. I would have made a start on it yesterday, but I had a splitting headache start up just as I was getting ready to record. :(

Once Maria (commonsparrow3) gets her recording submitted, we'll have our 14 sections. Should we accept more recordings before the August 24th deadline? The 14 recordings isn't written in stone.
